David Garland played "Bird Bird Bird" on a recent episode of SPINNING ON AIR on WNYC, which is exciting since WNYC not even a "music" station mostly, and it's John's favorite. (Go public media!) "Bird" and "Apple On A Table, Green" have been getting play on several stations across America, including WFMU which is another favorite station, particularly for folk music! If you have a favorite song and a favorite station, see if you can get them to combine, and thanks!

Also, the first record reviews are coming in! Here's one from Ireland's Whisperin' & Hollerin' webmag, who gives John Houx's Green Period an 8 of 10 (Bonnie Prince Billy's new one got a 5) and calls John "a new potential hero."

And as John plans an Autumn tour, help him decide how much of North America to cover by sending him a note at johnny [at] johnhoux [dot] com, and tell him where to play near you!

John, congratulations.
Historically, WNYC-FM was a music station from the 40's until 9/11 when it became for the emergency an information station with occasional music. David Garland's show is one of the holdovers from that time and he is one of my heroes.
Also, if I can cover the cover or get a comp, I will surely see you when you play in Brooklyn or the Village.
Kick ass!
