A long, long time ago, in a land far, far away, a radio monument was erected to our arrested adolescence. That erection, known as "The Teenage Wasteland," hosted by Bill Kelly, has been a toxic waste dump to all of those among us who despise rrreal rock and roll since its demon spawn back on that hoary day, August 15th, 1978, over the formerly pristine airwaves of WFMU.
Bill Kelly, known as THE original garage rock DJ in America, the Guru of Garage, the Sultan of Surf, the Potentate of Power Pop, the Mountebank of Manhattan, the Black Hole of Rock and Roll, remains a force to be reckoned with continuing to host his "Teenage Wasteland" radio show every Sunday afternoon on WFMU broadcasting on 91.1 FM in the New York City area, 90.1 fm in the Hudson Valley, and live on the web at www.wfmu.org as well as "Black Hole Bandstand" Saturdays at 8PM ET and Sundays 8AM on Sirius Satellite Radio channel 25 - Little Steven's Underground Garage.
Thw Howlin' Thurstons wish to publicly thank Bill for his support by bringing our contemporary brand of vintage instrumental savagery to the masses by graciously opening his "Teenage Wasteland" show on June 24 with "Dick Marmalade Private Eye".
