You plan what to say, what to put into your speeches...so what is the deal with checking if the 'facts' you are about to deliver, is even true or not? Both parties, both candidates and both potential VP's are equally to blame when it comes to this. Seriously, look it up. They have all spouted out things of themselves and of another that are either half true, barely true or an outright lie.

And THAT my friends is why most of us feel that we can't trust politicians. Sure they might have a great cause, but their lies make them lose their credibility. They are EACH responsible for checking their facts before they release them to America. So what's the problem?

Maybe they each need to hire a campaign/speech writer who will write a truthful campaign instead of a campaign that just 'sounds good'. Is it too hard to come up with a campaign that is both? Maybe the candidates just need to fact check the speeches before they whole heartedly agree to vomit it out of their mouths.

I have followed this campaign completely so far and I have read up on each candidate and their running mates...their biographies..about their spouses, children....career through their entire life...I have researched their voting history...quotes they have said in the past...even the history on their parents. I have watched their speeches, researched allegations made about them, read songs about them and even watched a video that made me wish I didn't have access to the internet at all.

(If you want to feel this same feeling, watch this: )

I'm not ignorant just because I don't want to vote, but I am fed up. Again.

By the way, what's the big flippin deal about Palin's 17 unmarried daughter being pregnant? It has nothing to do with Mccain's running mate not executing what she believes...it's her teenager for $@! sake. 98% of teenagers are out of control and out of their minds. Raise your hand if you don't know someone personally who has been/is pregnant under the age of 18. Get the heck over it and stop actin surprised.

Disclaimer: As with most statistics that the candidates give out, that statistic was probably inaccurate as well.

I'm not against voting, but I am against dishonesty. It shouldn't be hard at all to run a honest campaign (I'm not even asking for a clean one). And until that happens, I'm just going to kick my feet up and sit back. Or maybe run for president myself..I take back what I said in my last blog. A woman would be perfect for running our country.

OH and another thing that drives me crazy is biased reporters/journalists/dipwads. SERIOUSLY SHUT THE $%@ UP. Learn to report news and coverage in a fact by fact manner. Leave your witless opinions out of it. Just because you have the power of the media and the attention of the American people, doesn't mean you should abuse it. That goes for CNN, FOX News...and whoever else can't properly do their job and stop ruining our country. That is NOT why the press was created.

I will kick somebody in the head.
Happy Time Harry

i completely and utterly AGREE with you...and I also do not want to vote because I do not like either candidate and or their outlandish dishonesty.

I really wish you wouldn't have posted that video....cuz now I hate Diddy even more than before! He's an ignorant, egotistical jerk off! What the hell does it matter if the lady is from Alaska? I mean...that seemed to be a big deal to him. I can't say anything more about this without offending some people and using explicit language! But I do agree with you on a lot of this. I don't even pay attention to any of it anymore because it's all crap! I don't want anything to do with it.

I agree with a few things you've said but I've always said if you don't vote you can't ever say anything negative about who's president. With that being said, since George Dubya Bush can't run again it'll McCain getting my vote.

Yeah, that's why I don't read or listen to most of the stuff that is said b/c it is just a fraction or TINY piece of the truth. Like how Palin was a Mayor of a small town, yes, yes she was but now she is Govenor. Things like that. Yes, they do it to Obama too but I don't like him so I won't elaborate.
I think the speeches are only to get people excited and riled up for their candidate. If you're smart, you do your own research and come to your own conclusions on deciding who to vote for. It's REALLY not Obama vs. McCain, it's who is best to run our country and every one has their beliefs on what is important and what is not. What is important to me may not be important to you and vice versa.
And the media is retarded and a complete waste of time...and there is dishonesty in politics....always have been (mostly), always will be. You just gotta take what's important to you, disregard what's not and vote on what you believe in. If that's nothing, meaning you won't vote, well, that's your right and freedom...as is your blog and my comment. :)

Now honesty never got a presidential candidate or any political candidate anywhere. They thrive on lies in sheep's clothing and the ignorance of the American people. If being 100% truthful would ensure an increase in votes for your campaign, polygraph tests would be permitted to be used during campaign speeches. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I agree with you whole heartily, but frown at the fact that honesty in politicians will never be a fact.

Oh...and I love you dearly. :)

Oh I couldn't even watch thirty seconds of the Diddy "viddy" because I thought my head might just explode. Great blog! I am voting this year but not for McCain nor for Obama. I'm giving my vote to Bobb Barr. I don't care for Bob Barr but I do think we need to open our political system to other points of view. I can't say I'm a democrat anymore; certainly couldn't be a republican, yet no party represents middle ground.

The media is biased but what isn't? Name just one popular liberal on talk radio; I'll give you a week to think about it and Howard Stern doesn't count. :) -- I bet a bunch of the scandal stories about Sarah Palin were leaked by the republicans to flood it out all once so nothing pops up close to election day.

This video just shows the ignorance of pdaddy or what ever the hell is stupid ass name is. He is a typical follower of Obama. That is all I will say about that video because we both know I could say a lot more that might offend some people.

But really who the hell cares about if the VP is from Alaska. It was a smart move on his part. The only dirt any one could find on her came from her teenage daughter. I don’t ever think that should matter isn’t getting pregnant as a teenage the thing to do. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe Obama was born to a teenage mother. Shouldn’t the reporters be spreading that across America?

And for Christ sake, McCain spent years as a POW. If you ever watch the man waive he can’t life his arms very high. That was a complication of injuries he received at war. Between the Republican Party I believe there are 4 sons serving in the armed forces. Trust me this party is for the troops. The armed forces of this county are what give everyone the freedom to say stupid crap like pdiddy has said that awful video. Any one who votes for Obama should be deported from this county.

Obama has this great dream of raising taxes. See examples below.
CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales

How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN 15% (no change)

OBAMA 39.6%

How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.'

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN (no changes)

Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)

Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax

Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet.

New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already)

New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)

New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....

New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

You can verify a lot of the above at the following web sites:

http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/election/2008/index.html

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/fact-checker/candidates/john(and there are many more to choose from, just use your favorite search engine)

Obama wants to reward the leeches of this country and encourage them to continue to leech of the working people. I don’t know about you but I believe I pay enough to our government. If at the end of the day there is not enough money in Americas Checkbook.. STOP THE FUITLESS SPENDING. Stop giving illegal immigrants the incentives for coming over her example being MEDICAID and tax breaks. Stop giving foreign countries thousands of dollars for aid and at the end of that day the county hates us. Last I checked I don’t give people that hate me money. America needs change and I believe McCain is the best choice. He has lived though hell he will not die while being president. His mother is 96 years old. Genetics are on his side.

Oh I know exactly what the candidates believe and I don't like that Obama (or most democrats) want to raise taxes in areas...even if it is 'only for the wealthy'. If I'm going to vote (which I would like to) it will be for Mccain...I know both of their history. MY POINT is that they BOTH need to be straight with whatever they're saying. A lot of times everyone who gives a speech now a days has trouble giving an accurate speech with accurate facts. That's all I'm asking for.

ok i havent watched the video yet but i will...
anyways, i completely agree w/ u, it is sad how all politics are based on lies and on what "the people want to hear" unfortunately it is how politics have been since the begining, it is nothing but a popularity contest....
you are completely right about the whole media thing as well, they are a bunch of idiots, who dont really know, and again are just contributing to the "popularity contest" because of course they only give their opinions and are completely biased and show what they want to show, not the truth about everything
in any case, i do take pride in being able to vote, and though i cant say im completely 100% republican, i do feel that is the party i mostly identify myself w/....people always ask me how I, as a Mexican, can vote republican when they're the ones mostly against immigration and blah blah, but that is all those people look at, they see it as if i was being a "traidor" to "my people"....but they are not looking at the bigger picture
ok..i was going somewhere w/ this and ive completely lost my train of thought...lol ill come back when i remember!
pretty much my point is...Obama is doing nothing buy playing the "rockstar" card right now, and if he wins, unfortunately it will solely be because of idiots who are mal-informed, and if this countrys economy is in the hole right now, i truly believe w/ Obama in office we wont be far from becoming a 3rd world country.....

sign me up to go watch u kik someone in the head please!!!! :)
