Hartke's Greatest Unsigned BassistJim Casey
The one and only Casey is a wonderfully original and very smart maniac who I'm happy to know and call a friend. Originally from Chicago and now living in Florida what else can I say…this guy is red-hot and that is something that everybody seems to agree on. It was in early 2007 when Casey first e-mailed me a track and I will never forget that day. No more than I could forget the first time I heard Jimi Hendrix or Jaco Pastorius. To me Casey is that memorable and original an artist!
Casey e-mailed me a track he had recorded called "Strings". Upon my very first listen to "Strings" I knew right away that Casey was not just a run of the mill extraordinary talent, but a fresh and original extraordinary talent, the kind of talent that only comes around once in a couple of lifetimes. I remember being so floored by "Strings" that I listened to it about twenty times in a row after which I called him back demanding to hear more and hear more I did. Casey e-mailed me some more tracks and man everything this guy plays is mind blowing, his own style of playing, his own style of music and his own concept of the bass guitar.
In the months since I met Casey he's made me look like quite the genius by garnering the attention of many, many others in the music business that also see him for the standout talent that he is. You can expect big things in 2008 from Casey and his very dangerous, very cool, great sounding custom Sukop bass.
We are very proud to have Casey as a member of the Hartke family. You can read and hear much more about the amazing Casey on his MySpace.

Casey is also currently turning being "unsigned" into a profession…he's just started working with Rolling Stone Magazine's Number One Unsigned Band "Klik".
