Who Gives Kudos:

Monday, September 08, 2008
Greetings to all,

This is Eduardo Verastegui. First of all, I would like to thank you all for the support you have given to my first film "Bella". With your support, mobilization and efforts, "Bella" became the best movie with Latino content in 2007 in the USA.

We have made Hollywood aware that if a group of people believe in a film with a cause: to bring back values, hope, faith and charity back to our world, we can make a difference together and be heard.

Now, I am asking you for your support in what I consider a passion of mine. I would like to introduce to you Manto de Guadalupe and give you a little background on how this came to be.

Whenever I go to Mexico City, I try as best as I can to visit La Virgen de Guadalupe at the Basilica. Back in 2005 at one of my visits I felt the inspiration to help others through creating a non-profit organization. The name that came to mind while I was praying to Our Lady was Manto de Guadalupe and so this organization was born.

A few years later, Manto de Guadalupe has 2 clear mission statements:

* The first mission statement is to help those who live in extreme poverty in 3rd world countries such as Mexico, Latin America and Africa with humanitarian aid for families by building new homes, fixing roofs and putting cement floors. For us in the USA this may be unimportant, but in these countries these are the most basic needs people have in order to have a somewhat healthy life within their physical and material poverty. We also bring toys, clothes and hygiene goods for kids, teens and adults. We are looking to add health care to these missions by bringing in doctors, nurses, and dentists to give general check ups, test, etc.

* The second mission statement for Manto de Guadalupe was born as a result of Bella's impact, especially in women facing a non-desired pregnancy. Our idea is to help them with information, resources and options to make the best decision for their life. We are committed to help the mothers and be the voice for their unborn babies so they may have an opportunity to live by informing their mothers about the consequences of abortion, etc.

So as you could imagine a non-profit organization with these goals in mind need financial assistance to be able to expand from one city to another in the USA with centers to help women and to increase the amount of missions a year to extremely poor countries from 1 to at least 5 missions a year or more in the near future. (go to www.mantodeguadalupe.com) to see pictures of past missions, etc

To accomplish all of this, we need your help and support. We found a very simple and effective way for you to help us and the best thing is that it won't cost you (directly) a penny!

First, I would like to point out that since our present era is heading towards a digital era (we already spend lots of time in the internet to socialize, study, communicate, etc) we found a website which provides a great way for us to get funds for Manto de Guadalupe and at the same time it wouldn't disrupt anyone's pocket book or budget.

All we ask you to do is the following:

Buy online through our Manto de Guadalupe's website all of your shopping needs from: Clothing, Food, Home, Kids, Office, Entertainment, Sports, etc. We have links with many of the major retail stores in the country like; Macy's, Baby's R Us, Apple, Office Depot, Barnes & Nobles, Wal-Mart, etc. (just to name a few).

By coming from our website to buy your necessities and general supplies for you and your family, you would be helping us raise funds for our missions and centers in the USA for pregnant women. These retailers would give us from 1% to up to 25% of whatever you spend in their online stores! So you can buy what you need while knowing that for ever dollar you spend you are helping an unborn baby and his mother, or an extremely poor kid with no hopes of education or a safe home to have the basic necessities that every human being should be entitled to.

I believe that together we can make a difference (as we have done already in the film industry) and I am asking you for your support to help me help those people who need us.

It is very simple to help us, all you have to do is:

* Every time you need to buy something, first go to: www.shoptoearth.net/mantodeguadalupe and check out the retailers in the front page for whatever you are looking for.

* You can become a Preferred Customer by clicking on the front page of the website and receive additional discounts by email.

* If you prefer to shop in person at these retailers' stores, simply go to the drop down list of the retailers in the home page and get a Gift Certificate for the amount you think you would be spending, wait in the mail for it (2-3 days) and then go shopping with it! You are still helping Manto de Guadalupe this way!

Through this fundraising means everybody wins! You can help our mission and become part of the change in many people's lives by simply continuing to do what you already do. The difference is, instead of going directly to these retailers' websites or stores to buy and purchase goods, now from your own home you can make a difference with all your shopping expenses in someone's life and at the same time save money in gas, parking, etc. It is that simple and it doesn't cost you a thing!

I am confident that by the grace of God, and with your assistance we will be making a difference and at the same time change the world by bringing back what seems to be lost with this time; Faith, Hope, and Charity.

If you would have any questions on how the website works, please feel free to contact us at 888-558-0367 (which it is also in the website) or via email at mantodeguadalupe@live.com

God bless you and thank you for your support.

Eduardo Verastegui

That's awesome. I do a fair amount of shopping online.
From now on I will check this site first before buying elsewhere!
I will pass this on to others!
Blessings!

Eduardo,

Cuidate mucho!

hey eduardo,

i am do greatful there are people like you out there. i will do my best to help your cause in any way i can.

i want to share something with you. about a mount ago, my 7 yerar old boy romeo was crying one day and i asked him what was wrong. he told me "mommy, my heart hurts", and i said well why. he than told me "do you remember that movie we saw bella a long time ago, well i just keep thinking about it". i hugged him and told him that it is ok to cry and that he is a very good caring boy i have.

on another thought, my family has just moved to sweden, and abortion here seems to be the answer to every unwanted pregnancy. it makes me sick. there are very few religious people here. when we attend mass on the weekend, you can be sure that you will always have a place to sit. i have my children in a private catholic school in goteborg. there are two in the whole country. sweden is a very sad country, the children are raised by the government. they are in daycare all day from 18mths on. i had a huge disagreement the other day with someone who claims to have been born catholic but explained to me how sick it was that our pope supports abortion. i was so shocked, i get so angry sometimes and become so deffensive to everyone here. it is very very sad.

please keep the people of this country in your prayers. AND ALLL WHO READ THIS COMMENT, PLEASE KEEP THIS COUNTRY IN YOUR PRAYERS.

the school my children attend only survives because of all the non sweedish people who attend. the children in the school are like my children who have moved here from other countries.

GOD BLESS ALL, THANK YOU!
