Hi Dave,

There are two different Indie Charts on CashboxMagazine.com
One is Cashbox Indie Picks and the other is Indie Charts.

The Indie Charts are based on actual plays on the IAC site. Those can be influenced by contacting fellow artists on IAC and making massive amounts of friends all in the effort to get them to play your songs.

The Cashbox Indie Picks are based on Cashbox Magazine's staff of writers and reviewers and the opinions of various music experts.  They are like the American Idol judges.  If they really like your song lyrics, production, orchestration and performance and feel you deserve a break your song moves up on the charts.  On the average the songs only remain on these charts for 10 weeks.

You cannot influence the outcome but you can rest assured that if you make it on these charts, people in the music industry think your songs are good enough to be played on the radio and compete with the major artists.   It's a good position to be in.

Hi, Bruce,
I was trying to figure out what I can do to help "Hey, Diddle-Diddle" continue moving up the charts. I asked IAC about exporting a player to bump up my plays on your station, but they said your chart rankings aren't based on of plays. I'm curious as to what makes a song move up or down on Cashbox Country Picks charts if it's not based on plays. Can you enlighten me? Thanks for helping me feel good about my song!
