Brewer Dave McClure has done it again y'all! Atlanta Brewing Company just came home from the Craft Brewer's Conference and World Beer Cup in San Diego last weekend with a Gold Medal and a Bronze Medal. The gold went to Red Brick Barrel Select in the Wood and Barrel Aged Beer category. This is our flagship brand, Red Brick Ale, that has been aged in a Jim Beam Bourbon barrel for 10 months. Dave only made one very small batch of this, and sadly, it's all gone. We'll be making more barrel aged products though, so don't despair. And remember, we started with the same fantastic Red Brick Ale that you can find on tap and on the shelf at restaurants, bars, package and grocery stores all over the Southeast.
The Bronze went to Numbers Ale in the Special Bitter or Best Bitter category. Numbers Ale pours a light copper color, with a slight malt sweetness, mild hop bitterness and a fresh floral aroma and flavor character. Numbers is available on draft primarily in one restaurant group's establishments (state law does not permit me to name that group, but there's a clue in the name), and also in bottles at package and grocery stores throughout metro Atlanta.
As if that wasn't enough for one week, on April 12 at The Hickory Hops Festival and Carolina Championship of Beer, Peachtree Pale Ale claimed the Gold in the American Pale Ale category and Red Brick Ale brought home the Bronze in the English Brown Ale category.
Red Brick Blonde takes the Gold! In just our second year of entering the competition at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, ABC Brewmaster Dave McClure brought home a Gold Medal in the Golden or Blonde Ale category. GABF is the largest and most recognized beer festival in the United States, with over 400 breweries and 2800 beers participating in the competition.
Ok, it's starting to get hot, so that means it's time for Red Brick Summer. Our seasonal Hefeweizen has hit the shelves!
