Current mood:  energetic
Throughout my career, I've met people who write wonderful songs. People who have other careers, jobs, and responsibilities that prevented them from pursuing music full-time, but, still.... when they can, sit down at the piano, or pick up a guitar... and write. And they always express their desire to have a decent, clean professional recording of their songs.
Usually their expreriences fall into two categories. (1. They go in the studio, pay an hourly rate, with people they know, everyone is trying their best, playing everything they can, everything is rushed and the arrangement is cluttered.... a traffic jam. They listen later, and, although it's a nice memory of being "in the studio", it doesn't sound tight. There was no producer on hand to make sure that the arrangement served the song, and what was being said. (2. They (or their friends) buy recording gear, and do it themselves. The story that follows goes something like this.... they attempt to play the other instruments, but since they have limited experience with drum/bass rhythm-section approaches, string arrangements, different genre horn-section parts..... things sound "stilted".... not to mention the "I spent last month trying out different reverbs on the snare" snakepit, because the choices are endless.
So, based on the fact that my demos got me a staff-songwriter position with a major publisher in Nashville, and recordings I did up here in New England are to be released this summer - national distribution, major label - I started picking up clients on the side, producing their demos/CDs. In tandem with my musical partner, multi-instumentalist/Engineer Rex Havoc, we started working with songwriters without a band. Because I have a network of the most experienced studio-pro musicians, a studio with the most updated Pro-Tools system(HAVOC STUDIO), and 35 years recording major/independent projects, we are able to deliver a heartfelt, professional, and inspired recording to our artists.... songwriters without a band. You send your demo of you singing your song-just you, that's fine. We talk, you tell me your influences, parts you hear, what it should sound like. I make calls, put some players together, go to Havoc Studio, lay down tracks. I can send them to you, or you can come to us to sing and play your parts and I'll produce the final product... I'll send tracks with a "hole" in the arrangement for the part you want to play and you can finish at home...many choices..
References/testimonials are available from many happy people - Nobody has walked away feeling anything other than thrilled with how their song sounds. Remember, this is, in large part, a labor of love.... prices/services are aimed at making this affordable, fullfilling, and mind-blowing.... please get in touch/check out these sites, and we'll talk... adios amigos...... bri
