I'm gonna hafta to agree here, stops signs are red octagons, and yield signs are triangles with different colored trim, so EVEN if you can't read you have to at least know shapes. They teach that in like kindergarden or something.

And Cas at least you don't get the creepy stares from the smartassed kids when you respond to whatever nasty little comment they just made about you in Spanish, I swear they look at me like I just landed my spaceship or something.

Well, Like I always say..everywhere sucks for one reason or another.  Noone ever asks me for money here, stop hanging out on the south side. :)   Homeless people beg for money in every city..you cannot pin that one on SA.  However, I'm not a lover of san antonio and I will tell you what I do hate..that learned mexican accent!!  There are people in SA who do in fact know spanish and have been to mexico..but I'll be bold to say that the majority of them, especially the younger generations, do not know a word of spanish beyond cerveza and bano, but still have this annoying mexican accent when they speak english.  why????  And it's not because of their parents because I had some chinese kids in my highschool whose parents knew no english but the kids didn't have some chinese accent.  Man I hate that accent!! I even hear white girls talking like that around here.  and what is up with all those bloated ass chubby kids I see around here all the time?? That annoys me...but I hear being obese can lower your reproductive chances, so that could be a good thing.

Its better than Biloxi though. Casper seriously u need to get out more man. Make new friends (maybe som1 like Gaylin AKA CBG). Well said man, I'm not a big fan of San Antonio myself, but as far as the begging for money goes....Houston is so much worse. You literally have a person in every single corner. I completely agree with your girl Becky about the whole Spanish thing, man you can't find a brown person who speaks fluent Spanish in this city. Oh and just because your brown does not mean your Mexican......so dont't asume; especially with San Antonio becoming a small melting pot. Anyways...thanks for the comment! Dude, this sounds like what I say at least once a week. We all need to get out of here, before our soul is sucked completely out of us...

Here's another one: I lived in the PI for a year, and picked up 3 new languages, I would bet $20 most people have not heard of 2 of them ever in their lives. Why do I have to put up with someone that has been here 10 years, works in retail (like sales/fast food), and can't speak the language?!?! (English is the one I am referring to). I have nothing against speaking your native language in your homes, to friends, to whomever else, I think that is important to keep heritage alive, but when it comes to working, all I want is a cheeseburger man, that's ALL I WANT!!! lol.

 

haha this is funny! im sooo glad im moved to this city now! haha jk. but u know what, i've noticed it, like people actually come to a stop at the yield signs!!! its crazy cuz in Houston, its just like whoever gets there first, no one slows down! lol well it looks like i have alot to get used to here...

 

Ok SO Its like been 294830480392 years since you posted this but TO ME the thing that makes san antonio good is because my family and my friends are here! Other than that it gets lame at times. BUT... I can not stand the way that people here cant drive for real! PEOPLE CAN NOT DRIVE HERE! They go 20 in a 40. They take slow ass turns. They park on the side of the street which is in the middle of the right lane! I am late to work because they are so fuckin slow!
