Sailing the Styx
This week the Sun continues its
course down the good river Scorpio while the Moon winds and wanes her
way through the sky. Mercury streaks ahead of the Sun, sending the mind
on a scouting mission. Venus left Libra last Saturday, exchanging her
princess uniform for a small pair of Scorpio-friendly bat-wings and
horns. Meanwhile, Mars in Leo
digs deeper into the shadow of his coming retrograde, throwing off hot,
dark little cinders of irritability and violence. Behind and beyond
all this, Saturn in Libra moves into a tense aspect with Pluto in Capricorn, taking apart the set the whole drama’s trying to happen on.
Its a week of momentum, a bumpy week of underworld white-water rafting. Bring your life-vest, and your whiskey.
Burning River
The Sun, Venus and Mercury are all
in Scorpio for the week, lorded over by a soon-to-be-retrograde Mars in
Leo. It makes situations combustible. Do what you can to keep your
tempers in check and your tone friendly as the old garbage gets set
afire by Mars’ passage.
Perspective Shift
This Wednesday Mercury makes a
harmonious aspect to Uranus in Pisces. This contact betwixt the
planets will serve to shake up communications, send some new ideas down
the pipe, and add a dose of insight into whatever area of life you’re
renovating. The following day, Mercury has a face off with Neptune,
challenging the fresh ideas to stack up to dreams, and either confusing
communications or charging them with utopian glee. Or both.
And that’s about it for Mercury in
Scorpio. He’s picking up speed, heading for the anime-infested
pastures of excitement some sages call “Sagittarius”. And he’ll get
there, but not until next Monday.
The Girl With The Cute Little Horns
Venus, on the other hand, will be
in Scorpio for awhile. The old queen of heaven hikes her skirts up to
wade through the swamps of Scorpio until December 1st, unwittingly
giving onlooking pervs a tasty peek. Venus’ movement into Scorpio
shifts how people connect. Instead of maintaining charming decorum,
Venus in Scorpio stimulates intense, direct and downright rude
connections. Here Venus is a succubus, daring us to cross boundaries

Demolition Crew
In the background, Saturn in Libra grinds closer to his nasty little square with Pluto in Capricorn.
The square’s been tight for weeks, but the planets actually clash at a
perfect 90 degree angle this weekend. It challenges the desire to
bring balance to life with a deep need to remake things from the ground
up. Perfect for tearing down your old house to build the one of your
dreams. Not so perfect for things that don’t involve radical change. This
one will probably be rough on those born the first day or two of
Cardinal signs. This means you, early Aries, Cancer, Libra and
Capricorn. If this one doesn’t
find you examining your life’s blueprints and considering a little
creative destruction, don’t worry, this is only the first of multiple

live in walls. Make sure you do a little research before you get to
declaring war.
Taurus: Cow Eyed
The pile up of Mercury, Venus and
the Sun in Scorpio all highlight your relationships, especially with
family. The current setup is dragging some old conflicts out into a
