Hello Dearest Dear Listener.
It been a while since I've written, recorded, and released a new song. Life has been busy. I've moved a couple hours up the Oregon Coast with my lovely wife Michelle. In June we lost our beloved dog Pepper to kidney failure. Pepper was one of my favorite muses. Often sleeping by my amplifier in the studio. She was a sweetheart and her photo just happens to grace my first CD, It's All In Your Head. I think this song is my way of musically saying goodbye.
The new tune features my 1930 National Steel Guitar played with a copper pipe slide. I'm putting a few finishing touches on her and hope to release soon.
Love Games (Words and Music by David Stephenson, copyright 2009)
I met her in the Spring when I was broadcasting my seed
I met her in the Spring when I was broadcasting my seed
You know I fed her all she want
Fed her all my feed
No time for crying, crying
No time for crying, crying
Do you love me?
Are you playin' your love games?
Do you love me?
Are you playin' your love games?
Then I asked the little bird "Do you love me?"
And I watched her fly away
Asked the little bird "Do you love me?"
And watched her fly away
But there be no time for crying
She'll return again one day
No time for crying, crying
No time for crying, crying
Do you love me?
Are you playin' your love games?
Do you love me?
Are you playin' with love?
No time for crying, crying
No time for crying, crying
Do you love me?
Are you playin' your love games?
Do you love me?
Are you playin' with love?
