Gunshot wounds kill Jonathan Rodriguez, 22, in Allentown

A 22-year-old Allentown man was shot to death Monday night in the city, the Lehigh County Coroner Office reports.
Jonathan
Rodriguez, of the 700 block of Lehigh Street, was dead when he arrived
11 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, a news release
says.
An autopsy this morning determined gunshot wounds killed Rodriguez, and his death was ruled a homicide.
The coroner's news release says he was shot about 10:35 p.m. at Grant and Chew streets.
Allentown
police responded there for a report of shots fired and found evidence
of a shooting, but no victim, Assistant Chief Ronald Manescu said. A
short time later an officer stopped two vehicles trying to leave the
area and found a gunshot victim, Rodriguez, in one of them.
Rodriguez was transferred to an ambulance and brought to the hospital. Manescu would not say where on his body he was wounded.
As
of this afternoon, police had no suspects and had made no arrests. The
coroner's office, Allentown police and Lehigh County District Attorney
Jim Martin are investigating.
