January 16th - February 25th 2009Here is the gallery's Statement:
Dorothy Circus Gallery is glad to present "Border Love", the first show of this new year. The title, from the words "Borderline" and "Love",wants to point out the contents of modern love, that is incomprehension, eroticism, the game and the madness and so on...This group show will host three French artists (Benjamin Lacombe, Kmye Chan, Lostfish) and one Italian (Consuelo Mura) who, through their art works, are going to offer a fascinating and personal interpretation of the theme.
Here are my 4 pieces for the show:
"Eat me, drink me"

My interpretation of the very trouble world of Lewis Carrol ( Who loved a little too much the little girls). I drew Alice Liddel, the real Alice, not the blonde Tenniel's one.
"Yama Uba's sugar "

"The Pins's Forest"

Size : 25,4 x 16,8 inches
Direct reference to the Pins 's way that had choosen the small little girl in red in famous story. Pins, in story, being the symbol of the passage forced in the puberty and the loss of its innocence when the girl meet the wolf.

Aprendo le sue porte al mondo del Pop Surrealismo hailluminato gli oscuri lati delle favole per adulti, riportato a gallanuove mitologie, disfatto e rifatto il puzzle della rabbia, capovolto erisuscitato il subconscio nostalgico.E’ la volta dell’amore estremo:BORDER-LOVE. Questa la nuova sfida della D.C.G: raccontare attraversole opere degli artisti LOSTFISH, BENJAMIN LACOMBE, KMYE CHAN, CONSUELOMURA gli amori di oggi: precari, incomprensibili, privati, spessoinvisibili. Storie, dinamiche, giochi e i loro protagonisti al confinetra il sano e l’insano, amanti non coniugati ma ugualmentecongiunti.Molteplici volti degli amori moderni che hanno oltrepassatoil limite delle buone maniere, saturi di perbenismo e condizionamenti,ribelli ma intrisi di spiritualità antica, nutriti di solitudine e diuna passione che è droga della mente e dell’anima.I sorrisi diquell’amore che trova la sua coscienza nell’erotismo dei malintesi,seguendo le tracce delle gioie come promesse dell’impossibile cheprescinde dalle regole e sconfina nell’assurdo di un’intimità surreale, fatta di sesso e possesso, fusione e matrimonio dei sensi.“il cuore èsinistro e vive tra le fiamme”.
