Mid Summer's Night...Tiger' s Eye Collective Show
starring Ava Fleming

Ava then came to the stage…and let me tell you…I have never seen anything like this in all my years of being apart of a raqs & international communities. Ava alone is beyond gorgeous. Pictures don't do her justice. Her personality is truly warm and inviting. She makes you wish you were related to her just so you could have an
excuse to put your arms around her and hug her.... She's really great, masha'Allah.

Then there's her dancing…oohhh, myyyyy!! This gorgeous,
graceful burst of femininity glided out on to that stage in a red and black bedluh that was supposedly designed by Sahar Oshaka... I couldn't find that exact make and model in the Sahar collection but regardless it was incredible to say the least. The top was in a sleeveless bolero-bra cut with intricate red workings on the bra and belt. The skirt flowed straight down and she worked that costume and music like none other.

With a young face resembling one of Egypt's finest she
put forth a raqs routine so full of passion that I nearly slipped out of my chair. Her music choice was more than clever…a modern version of "Roxanne" (originally by Sting)…ha ha…one of my favorite songs. I…I just feel bad for those who weren't able to see this. I have NEVER
EVER EVERRRR seen anything like what she did…with her body, her soul…and to sum it up…she really gave us a piece of "herself" that night. It was a splendid gift and warmly received. Ya helowa, ana baheb al kol…wala, yani…wa'laaaa!

During intermission everyone picked their chins up off the floor and perhaps a few teeth and eyes. We all stood up and walked around, grabbing a hold of each other not really able to say much more than, "Did you see that??!! Oh my gahhhh!!!"

And then...(heavens open and cherubs sing) Ava returned…wearing yet another absolutely fabulous costume. She danced to a song that I first heard when attending courses led by Suhad Nasser of Palestine. I don't know the name of it but I know it when I hear it. Just watching Ava out there on that stage with a perfect entrance and
superbe audience interaction I just swooned and nearly fell over. I almost cried. Ohhh, Lawwws!! This Raissa is REALLY SOMETHING!!!

Again
if you didn't see her I just feel down right sorry for you…I really do. I'd have gladly paid $50 to see her perform just those two pieces. She did everything perfect…didn' t throw in a lot of tricks and excessive stuff…she just danced…danced like she's been doing this her whole life…as if someone created her out of clay and
whispered "raqs" into her ear and she just rose and did it…ya astaf'Allah, I was smitten…smitten I say…completely floored. Ya Ava!! Shukran Jazillan!! Shukran!!!

wow, thanks for posting my review...and to think I actually "held back" in the document·on the side of caution. Again, looking forward to 2009!
