He left the world and crawled inside his head
Every day life turned to staying in bed.
She held him together like a sweet glue
Warm, loving, like the sun was too.
.. ..
So she became the sun
And with that unforgotten light
But he was lost in a synthetic fun
So soon clouds come in to sight.
.. ..
He tried to replace the sun
With a deceiving little heater.
Forgetting what he had done
His sins became a leader.
.. ..
But you cannot get light from a little box
Nor love on those heated rocks.
You can pretend that she is in your sight
But you know that doesn’t make it right.
.. ..
And when the storm blows out your only fuse
You’re life becomes something you lose.
And though you don’t care what happens to you
Sometimes the weather can be forgiving too.
.. ..
So night comes down like a winter’s frown
Cold, guilt-ridden, days ahead.
You are so hurt that the sun went down
So hurt in fact, that you’ll stay in bed.
.. ..
Wise does my memory lie to me so
A little knowledge, a little know.
love. Dan.
