You are interested in documentary films? You want to be part of a global debate? You want to share your ideas and experiences of democracy and learn more about how democracy works in other parts of the world? You want to start a revolution? Then this project is something for you!
40 universities across the world have the opportunity to be part of the Why Democracy? Inter-University Debates. prior to the global screening. The universities will have an opportunity to screen up to five of the Why Democracy? films between Oct 1st and Oct 8th and engage in a global discussion with other universities.
To bring Why Democracy? to your university. Just do the following:
1) Check out Why Democracy? online.
Visit us www.whydemocracy.net. Here you can also learn more about the movies!
2) You can screen up to 5 movies. We can help you choose.
3) At this point contact Why Democracy? at outreach@whydemocracy.net.
Please tittle your e-mail "University Ambassador".
In the e-mail you should put your name, the name of your school, you e-mail, a telephone number and an address, with Country!
4) Now you have to find a good place and time to screen the movies between the 1st and 8th October.
A Place is good if you can:
• Show movies to an audience
• Be online
• Have a conversation
5) Then find out whether your university has a courier account and can pay for the cost of getting the films to you. The costs will depend on the geographical location and financial abilities of your university and range from Free to a maximum of US$ 50.
6) Now contact us with the time, place and currier account, so we can send you the movies.
7) Once you have confirmed and agreed to screen the films and be part of the discussion, we will send you a package with the films and a cover letter.
There will also be a facilitation guide online to help you, or one of your friends lead a discussion about the movies.
8) In the meantime we will contact you about setting up video links, so that you can talk to other universities or one of the directors!
9) Because of property rights issues the movies become your personal property after the screening. Kind of a cool addition to your collection?!
10) Congratulation you are now part of the global conversation.

Enjoy and think about democracy!
