October sees Northern Empire celebrate it's 2nd birthday, continuing our successful residency at the O2 Academy in Liverpool.

The last 24 months has seen a wealth of both local and national talent flow through the doors with bands such as Twisted Wheel and Glasvegas moving on up the ladder to bigger and better things.

Northern Empire continues to use the policy of blending up and coming touring bands from all over the country with the cream of the North West unsigned scene, to great success.

October's headliner is THE CHAPMAN FAMILY.

Hailing from Stokton on Tees, the post-punk foursome have received high praise indeed from Art Rocker magazine and the NME.

Debut single 'Kids' has earned regular airplay on Radio 1 and having just enjoyed show-stopping performances at both the Reading and Leeds festivals, they now embark on a full UK tour. First stop on the road...Northern Empire!

Supporting the Chapman Family are 3 local bands fit for such a stage. Strawhouses and the Mission Babies have both made a huge impact on the local scene and as a result have amassed a number of creditable support slots under their belt as well successfully performing their own headline shows in Liverpool.

Young punk upstarts The Temps open the bill fresh from their own headline Academy show. A night of hi-octance music is assured.

For a birthday treat, the Northern Empire DJs will be spinning a mix of indie classics fused with tunes from the stand out bands that have made NE so successful over the last 2 years.
