Category: MySpace
As you can tell, I am having some MAJOR issues with my myspace page. A few months ago it was hacked into and I'm still having problems. Yes I change my password weekly and Yes I've emailed the powers that be to help me with this. This has gotten me nowhere.
I am so sorry that I can no longer reply to any of your messages- and I HATE that I can't leave comments.
Please stick with me and know that I'm working on the issue.
Many Thanks,
Marla

Just hang in there...

A comic I know had his account just disappear, with no explanation. Some random guy is sitting on his URL now... This thing's been pretty effed up in general lately. Hopefully it'll blow over soon..

I sit with my fingers crossed staring at the computer 24/7 hoping in the face of overwhelming odds that this problem gets resolved.

I'm sorry but some people are really outrageous. Unless its one of those bots. I wish I could do something to help, but I really am out of suggestions. I haven't had that problem yet, but I have many firewalls, anti virus, and always clear all data everytime I close my browser. I hope it stops, no one should have to deal with that kind of crap. Sorry again. :( Hope it all gets sorted out with very little stress!!

If you're still having these issues, change out your login email address. And make sure your password has numbers, as well as lowercase and capital letters. And don't click on any links that tell you to click for free stuff. =)

last comment is good advice. one thing to ALWAYS pay attention to is your "status bar" at the bottom of your internet explorer. if you move your mouse over something, and it shows some really freaky link in the "status bar", doooont click it. If you are trying to view someones pics, and it says anything other than "viewmorepics.myspace.com", dont click it.

Also, you may have spy/ad-ware on your computer. You should get an anti-ad/spyware program. I recommend http://www.noadware.net/ . If you have windows, you should download the latest internet explorer, and the free microsoft security program "Windows Defender". Internet explorer is http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx and Windos Defender is at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=435BFCE7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en

Prior to one night when I got drunk and actually gave out my myspace password, i had around 4000 friends, and used Adware, IE7, and Windows Defender and never had any problems getting "phished".

Here is a link to an article about phishing, and some advice on how to prevent it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phishing

Single best thing on Myspace
http://profileedit.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=accountSettings.spam
Either go to this link, or on your myspace home page, click on Account Settings, then click on Spam. either way will bring you to the same page.
Check ALL the boxes that mention "CAPTCHA". This will make everyone that comments or emails you see a computer-generated alphanumeric sequence that they have to retype. This is essentially spam-proof, and will likely eliminate near-to-all of your spam and hackin issues.

Hope all this helps.

Myspace has these problems constantly, I don't even come here so often, I did get some spam from you back then I remember.
still I admit having a user here is somewhat useful sometimes, well for musicians mostly.
