Hello from the road!  We just left the Midwest and are headed south.  The night before last was simply awesome.  We ministered right at the State Capitol of Missouri, proclaiming the name of Jesus Christ and worshiping the true King of Kings!  There are only two states left in the country that have this type of event every year.  What a blessing it was to be part of it!  This past month has been pretty exciting all around.  We just found out last week that our latest single, “Oh Oh Lord” hit number one on the Christian Radio Weekly global charts.  I can’t even tell you how thankful I am to know that the song is being able to reach out and bless so many!  To God be all the glory!

About a week and a half ago, we were in Colorado heading west through the mountains.  We were up at about 9 thousand feet of altitude when we spotted something strange in the distance.  On a mountain right ahead of us, there was a massive twirling cloud of debree.  So, we got out of the van to get a better look at what it was.  You won’t even believe it… it was a tornado!  Ahhh!  We stood there in complete amazement and watched it for a few minutes until it dissipated.  Then we all hopped back in the van and headed on our way, which unfortunately happened to be straight toward that mountain.  As we drove, our eyes were pinned to the sky as you can only imagine.  We saw another funnel cloud trying to form off in the distance, but it didn’t last for more than a few minutes.  Then, all of the sudden I saw what looked like a spiraling section of wind lowering out of the clouds less than 100 meters down the highway.  We stopped the van and immediately got out.  I couldn’t believe my eyes!  A tornado was forming, right in front of us!  I was so excited that I grabbed my camera and got my picture with it!  Then everyone else got their pictures too.  Haha… I know it sounds crazy, but our whole lives we have wanted to see one in real life and there it was right before us.  As it moved closer, it got lower and lower trying to touch the ground.  I don’t know why, but we never thought to turn around or run away… fear never kicked in, like I thought it would have.  But as it got even closer I remember thinking, -ok Lord, what should I do if it touches down?  I felt total peace.  Then, right as it got closer I noticed the twister begin to loose momentum and lift up right before our eyes.  Honestly, it was one of the most awesome experiences ever!  You must go to my website at www.KathleenCarnali.com and see the pictures!  I also posted them at my Facebook music page at: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/pages/Kathleen-Carnali/30401042112?ref=ts

As I thought about all that had happened, the Lord began to speak to me.  He showed me a great picture of how he wants us to react, when major storms come and days of trouble happen.  He brought me to the end of Mark chapter 4, when Jesus commanded his disciples to get in a boat and pass over to the other side of the sea.  Just like how we needed to pass by that mountain in our van.  There arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat the boat so much that it began to fill with water.  However, Jesus was in the back of the boat asleep on a pillow.  His disciples woke him up saying "Master, don’t you care that we are about to die!" Jesus arose, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace, be still."  And at that moment the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.  Then Jesus said to them, "Why are ye so fearful?  How is it that you have no faith?"  And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, "What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"  How quickly we can take our trust and reliance off Jesus and put it in ourselves.  How often do we trust him with our mouths but our actions say something else.  And how easy it is to muse over possible scenarios of what ‘could’ happen, based on our own fears and worries.  Our life actions will eventually follow.  Selfishness creeps in and so can the fear of not having enough, or worrying that a storm may come in the future and take what is "ours".  Eventually, we live to maintain our gifts, rather than live to serve God totally with them.  This is not faith.  In fact, it is just the opposite.  My prayer for you and myself is that we WOULD be people who literally LIVE by faith and WALK in faith.  This is the way of the LORD.  Psalm 101:6 says, "Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me."  Proverbs 28:20 says, "A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent."  Matthew 24:45-46 says, "Who then is a faithful and wise servant…?  Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.  Verily I say unto you, that he shall make him ruler over all his goods."

Thank you Father for such an awesome picture of faith and for teaching us to be faithful.  May we not just be hearers of your word but doers also, that you would be glorified in our lives!  And when that great day comes, as I stand before you, may I hear your words "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord."  Amen.

"Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.  For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you might receive the promise.  For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.  Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.  But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul." (Hebrews 10: 35-39)

Be blessed my friend and trust in Him!
All love in Jesus,

~Kathleen
