So I've been in Charleston for quite some time now and I've been searching for a church to call my home without sucess. At least that is until this morning. I went to church on campus at CSU, the Lightsey chapel, where one of my professors from my summer classes there is pastor. Jon Davis. Having had such a wonderful time in his class and feeling so much more informed on my life as a Christian I wanted to see him in action. It was well worth the time. I have to admit that when I first walked in I was skeptical, our church from home is VERY traditional and there was a church band playing on stage when I walked to my seat. Feeling open, I sat my things down and listened to the beat and read along with the words, just trying to get a feel of the surroundings. But then I think I notice someone on stage that I recognize, it's Jon Davis, the pastor, playing a guitar! I loved it. I actually ended up loving the whole sermon, which was a great truth for many and the whole experience. Not our traditional church, but a church that teaches the word of GOD in an exhilarating way! I would love to invite all of my friends to come to church, there is plenty of room and always smiling faces to welcome you. I know I will be making this my home church for as long as I'm in Charleston if it's GODs will.
