MyStartMusic is a hub of services for up-and-coming artists/bands
searching for the right connections to get their music made, distributed and/or marketed by top industry professionals.
Why do you charge $39.99?
The submission fee is just a way to cover our overhead. We are a
service company delivering the best way to start your music career. We keep it low enough to encourage you to start here first.
What do I submit and how do I make it?
MyStartMusic will accept a CD or a video of your 2 song selection. If you don't know how to record yourself on CD, then make a video audition tape. Just get yourself a video camera and have someone record you singing 2 songs. Then send it to us on a DVD or a VHS tape, along with your submission package. If you are hip to YouTube, then upload your audition video there and send us the link.
What song should I submit?
MyStartMusic will accept any song. If you write, then submit an
original song. If you don't write, pick a song that best shows off your talent.
What if I dont play music or have a music track?
MyStartMusic will accept singing without music. Make sure you pick a song that best highlights your talent.
What happens after I submit my CD or video?
We take your submission and evaluate it. We will pass it around our A&R department and then you will receive a detailed report, along with a go or no go.
What happens if I get a go?
We will notify you and set up a meeting by phone or in person. It will be up to you, what you want to happen. Once we know what you want to achieve, we will set a budget and assist you throughout the process.
What happens if I get a no go?
Don't be discouraged, it just means you are not ready for our
services. Once you feel you are ready, resubmit again.
Who pays for my budget?
You do. We are a service that helps you get your start, the right way, on the first try.
How does MyStartMusic get paid?
We charge a small coordination fee that allows us to help you throughout the process. We make sure that you get what you paid for. There are many people that work in the music industry, some legit and some not. We help you navigate through this maze called the music business.
Do I have to sign any contracts?
No, we do not require you to sign any contracts. Again, we are a service company, not an agency, nor a management company.
Can you guarantee my success?
No, and any one who does is not telling you the truth. Even if he or she is the president of a major record label, there is no way to predict or guarantee success. However, there is a guaranteed way to fail, and that is not to try.
