Tour photos part 2: Kent/Columbus/Akron
Current mood:
exotic
Category:
Romance and Relationships
We spent a pretty large chunk of daylight hours in thrift stores. Not just clothes, oh no.
S.T.Y.L.E on a budget
Kent, Ohio is nothing like Kent, England. For a start it's all train tracks and no grass. Also there's something in the air that makes clowns like these two attempt to fight each other to the death.
Pete ran on NOS for the entire trip. We were disappointed to find that since we were last in the States,
SPARKS
no longer contains any of the gnarly heart-stopping stimulants it used to due to LAW and is instead now just a can of disgustingly acrid booze. I call BULLSHIT.
Used Kids, Columbus - definitely one of the best record shops we visited on this trip
I have no idea what Al is listening to here but I'm not sure I want to know
Spirits were high just before we realised we'd spent two thirds of our food budget on records
Mark getting pepped outside the Treehouse
Grandad's pizza
The Treehouse was an awesome venue. I nearly knocked myself out on a low hanging speaker because I was distracted by the fucking huge tree in the middle of the room.
St Moses The Black
- these guys were amazing and are hopefully coming over to the UK soon, keep your eyes and ears peeled
The fabled tree
Ain't nothing like a post-show fire
The Library Three in full on party mode
Charley St Moses and his playtime cactus
We decided way too late to make a run for some more pizza. The wait was epic but totally worth it. Shown here: a sleepy DJ St Moses and a slightly deranged Todd.
We came across these waxwork tributes to TLIOF outside a guitar shop on the way out of Columbus, such is their legendary status.
WARNING:
If you are easily disturbed or of a nervous disposition, I would suggest skipping the next seven photos
Everyone likes a warm welcome
So psyched was he to arrive in Devo's hometown that Alex burst into spontaneous dance
My least favourite thing about this cat is that it has eyebrows
Drummers vs bassists pool doubles. They only won cos they know how to hit stuff with sticks better than we do.
NEXT: Detroit/Cleveland/Pittsburgh!
