Hi Ya'll,

I thought since it has been the better part of a third of a year since I last added something here I may as well do it today. Don't want to rush in to anything, right? This tune actually put the "Dream Weaver" back on the airwaves. Gary Wright always had this great blend of ethereal textures mixed with RandB in his tunes. This was a strange one to cut though as there was a drum track already recorded that they didn't like. When they erased the first drum track they lost the click track as well. Here again I was flying a little blindly. The groove is a little wobbly as a result. I think it's a nice song though.

Brother Tris... I freaked out when I saw a blog from you that said... "I (implied) Really Wanna Know You!" --- LOLOL -- I thought, "Wow... another Jason Scheff coming out to play?" --- KEWL!

Hahaha!

Well, it was the thought that counted. You're SUCH a JOY!

Thanks for sharing the kewl tune.

Jax

Hi Tris

That is one of songs that you remember the second you see the title or hear it. Another job well done.
Looking for a Drum lesson when you are in Pennsylvania this year.

Thanks for checking in.

Awww, maaan! I have loved this song since the first time I heard it on the radio. I bought the 45 & put it on a compilation 8-track (yes) with other favorites of the era. My sister had never heard it until she was in the car with me one day. She wanted to hear it again, so when I got home I dug out the 45 & put it on the turntable. She played it over & over & over etc. for the next 3 days. I never did get sick of it, lol. Later bought the LP, but it seems to have sprouted legs & walked off somewhere (wonder if it's still in my family, hmmm...).

Thanks for bringing back a memory & giving us another chance to listen to this jewel. I suppose it's my untrained ears, but I hear nothing wobbly or otherwise off in your performance. I esp. like toward the faseout where you come back in & really put the ending in motion.

I'm glad to know you haven't abandoned us! Once again I'm amazed, but I'm still getting over the fact you played on Footloose and Conviction of the Heart - I've always been crazy about those tunes.

Happy New Year Tris...It is so great to hear from you. What a great song to put up. I was a huge fan of Gary Wright and I remember buying the 45's of these two songs. Both songs remind me of high school dances back in the 80's. Thanks for the great tune and the memories.
Take care Tris...Michelle

Hi Tris, I could say "it's about time you put up something new", but I think you just DID say it!! This is a wonderful add. I had forgotten this gorgeous Gary Wright effort, and was surprised and pleased to know it is you on the drum track.... makes it even more enjoyable.

Wobbly? Not to MY ears :)

thanks, my friend. A really nice track :):):)

Brings back some memories, thanks, Tris! Love hearing the story behind this - I guess it is pretty clear that you fly blindly better than just about anyone. And thanks for blogging to us - great to hear from you...can't wait to see the band in 2008!

Hi Tris,
Love this song, but of course I would like anything you played on because you're the "MAN".
You keep the rhythm going and kick it up a notch as Emeril would say. Your inventive style on solos always keeps it fresh, exciting and interesting. Your creative mind shows in everything you do with those sticks, bells, whistles and symbols. (Is that spelled with a C or S?) Your audience tells you of their appreciation for what you do on stage. We will always be part of your audience, wherever you go.
