No matter where I go people ask me about about this battle many have heard about it ....well here it is. This is for all the folks that have asked me for copies or have been searching for some sort of footage! Honestly, it is totally amazing to me how many lives that were touched by this battle that took place 20 yrs ago! We both did our thang DJ Cash Money and DJ Joe Cooley. The thing that is great is that Cash and I have remained friends over the years and it has been a pleasure to share such a moment in time. WE GAVE'EM THE BEST BATTLE EVER! WE SET THE STANDARD THAT BATTLES ARE JUDGED BY! This was 20yrs ago and no one had seen DJ's go at each other like this before,2 minutes a piece 2 rounds. So I say thank you to all of you who have supported us over the span of our careers....it's HIP HOP HISTORY! P.S. this one's for DJ Ray Swift, DJ Super Natural and Davey D! Yo...you asked me. Peace...DJ Joe Cooley..."Tha King Of Scratch".

What up sir....

Yo....just listening to this brings back memories; I'm getting goosebumps. I tell people that would listen to me or who are really into Hip Hop and the Dj aspect that this particular battle IS the ultimate Dj battle ever. The best on the West and the best on the East. Growing up, this is definitely what I used as a blueprint when I decided to enter the battle circuits a while back. I bet that anyone that knows about the history of the New Music Seminars and DMC, can easily agree with me. Thanks for being a big part of influencing me as an artist as well as Cash Money. Hope to build with you soon.

PS. I still gotta look for that VHS tape of the battle....as soon as I find it...you'll be the first person i'm calling.

Man I heard this on KSPC Claremont back when I lived in Chino in 1987. I was like, YO! that's the shit! I think we recorded it on cassette somewhere but good luck. This station also debuted the Ice T album Rhyme Pays when it came out. Good Times!

Salute! I've always been a fan of Dj battles and I had a small piece of this on vhs. Man my friend wanted to hold the tape....let dude hold it and he never gave it back.(dang) I remember Cash Money took off his shoe and started cutting with the shoe on one hand. It was something exciting visually but........ yea real heads know what time it is....
