As a teacher I have been teaching singing, guitar and songwriting for 4 years privately. Over 60 new pupils in the last two years ranging from 8 to 50 years old.

With singing i focus mainly on building your confidence through breathing, phrasing, posture and projection. I can also help you to read music or just to learn by ear.

Experienced in classical, musical theatre and contemporary pop music.

Trained under my father, Simon Carrington who was a founder member of the King’s Singers. Awarded a choral scholarship to Salisbury Cathedral and a music scholarship to Bryanston. Subsequently trained at LAMDA where I assisted the vocal staff in helping students with their singing techniques.

As a songwriter I am able to use my experience and talent to demonstrate how songs are written and how to find the inner songwriter in you.

As a guitar teacher i can help beginners understand the guitar, work out the basic chords, begin to develop a feel for rhythm and learn to play your favourite songs.

My background as a songwriter:

I have recently recorded an album in Los Angeles and London with Hollywood film composer Klaus Badelt. (Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Poseidon, Gladiator, Rescue Dawn, Premonition and Constantine). Mixed by Grammy winner James Guthrie (Pink Floyd) and featuring the mighty talents of legendary session musicians Michael Landau, Luis Conte, Tom Coster, Abe Laboriel and Abe Laboriel Jr and the London session orchestra at Abbey Road.

My song ‘Ache’ has been featured on 4 major US TV shows - ER, Smallville, Side Order of Life and The Evidence. I had a song on the soundtrack to the Werner Herzog movie Rescue Dawn starring Christian Bale and BT Openworld commissioned my song for their campaign.
