Current mood:  jedi
Hey everyone, hope you're well and enjoying the summer.

It's a scorcher here in NYC today, 94 and sunny.  Native New Yorkers complain about this type of weather, calling the heat mean things like "disgusting."  To me this type of weather is amazing.  In England we complain all year round about the rainy and gray weather.  Then summer comes along and we go on holiday to Spain and complain that it's too hot while shovelling a full-English breakfast into our mouths.

Our NYC Blitz continued over the weekend with two acoustic shows. On Friday we were at our favorite acoustic venue in the city, Rockwood Music Hall, and on Saturday we were at the Roots Cafe in Brooklyn.  I'd like to offer up big thanks to all those who came to see us at the Bellhouse in Brooklyn last week.  All proceeds went to a very worthy cause, the Ronald McDonald House.  Personally, my favorite show of the Blitz thus far was the one at Arlene's Grocery.  There was just an incredible atmosphere in the venue that night.

In between our constant rehearsing, writing, recording and performing we took some time out to do some photos with our favorite photographer, the very talented Lana Theo.  We'll be posting them soon.

Tonight Coyle and I are going to watch District 9. I'm very excited as all the reviews I've read have been positive.  I'm wearing my Sci-fi outfit, which is a Star Wars tee and a pair of genes that are alien.

Next stop on the YV bus is the Tribeca Grand on Saturday, August 29. It's going to be a wild, crazy, insane night. See you there.

Free, peace, sweet,
Jon

Oh wow...have fun. I went to see District 9 on Friday. UNREAL!!! When this movie "kicks in" you just won't believe it. Pretty moving too...different. I loved the soundtrack as well. Well your outfits sound smashing for sure.

Jon Sir,..
....It has been too long!....
....I have nothing to offer you on the District 9 front, but I have seen G-Force in 3D (which is very cute and funny) and Julia/Julie this past weekend, which I offered up as a vanilla souffle rising, with both Meryl Streep and Amy Adams absolutely delightful, as are the men that play their counterparts.  I was also reminded of some of my mother's most wonderful meals-- she is and always will be the best cook ever in my mind.  No English breakfasts in our household, not ever, but there were cheesecakes and apple pie every Thanksgiving and cookies every day... fresh breads and wonderful Italian entrees. And none of that has anything to do with what you wrote but that I get sad reading your NYC appearances and me not being there to see and smile through your songs.....
....I've been writing again, finally, and I have some music news.  I'm very excited.  I'll write you and tell you separately.  ....
....xo JK..

Let me know what you think.  I've been thinking about seeing District 9 myself.

DISTRICT 9 = AMAZING.  Really gross to the point I felt a little icky in the tummy at times, but otherwise I thought it was great.

Not the Girl You Think You Are

Haven't seen any NY shows, living in Las Vegas and feel sensory deprived! But Lana Theo is awesome! I checked her stuff out after I saw that she was the one taking your photos awhile ago. I was so impressed. :)
