Anti-Social Music and Gena Rowlands Band teamed up to put out their dynamic and highly creative "Nitrate Hymnal" album recently. Susan Oetgen was part of that beautiful tapestry of witty chamber-pop. She presents her mellow and cerebral debut entitled "Solitude's Dollhouse" that rests her classical opera vocal training alongside modern female-led alternative rock. An open-minded rocker that likes to keep certain elements of her music subtle while throwing others wildly in your face, Likeness to Lily tosses catchy melodies and thick grooves with abrasiveness yet restrained enough to not be overtly poppy. I like it. A lot.
