We do, it's true.

We are delighted to announce that we will be releasing Paper Planes debut single 'Doris Day'. They are an outstanding band and we feel pretty lucky to be working with them.

'Doris Day' and the flip side 'Restless' are both up on our player and we've stuck a video up on our page too. We'll post reviews as and when we get them but for now here's the press release:

Paper Planes release their debut single ‘Doris Day’ on the 12th of October 2009

One part American, three parts Scottish, Paper Planes came together in January 09. Born out of mutual respect of The late 70's New York Punk scene, the upshot is Surf/Rockabilly guitars with Post Punk bass runs and beats, all played over East Coast American yelps and drawls.

“Paper Planes – the Glasgow-based Scottish/American scuzzy melodic post-punk quartet seem to have arrived fully-formed out of nowhere over the last few months. The attention to detail in their Cramps, Link Wray and Velvet Underground-influenced songs is practically forensic, while in New Jersey-born-and-raised singer Jennifer Paley they have a front woman with a distinctive voice and bags of natural magnetism.” – The Scotsman

“... pretty exceptional, Paper Planes have struck on a great formula. New Jersey-born front woman Jennifer Paley is as photogenic as a young Chrissie Hynde and caterwauls as shrilly as Karen O. Guitarist Christopher Haddow channels the ghostly, über-reverby trash-surf of The Cramps, while the rhythm section trade powerful low-end blows like back alley boxers trade right hooks... If this band don’t go far we’ll eat our darn hats, with a side serving of gloves and scarves for good measure.” – The List, Malcolm Jack

“... Their authenticity, and the power of their performance, has been noted... (Jennifer Paley’s) vocals embrace half a century of female rock singing, and she looks the part...   Paper Planes have the material. ” – The Herald, Keith Bruce

Paper Planes are:
Jennifer Paley (vocals)
Fraser McFadzean (bass)
Craig O’Brien (drums)
Christopher Haddow (guitar)
