THE BIG ISSUE (MALCOLM JACK) - 4 STARS

“... Paper Planes are the definition of a hot prospect, all shrill girl vocals
and low-down dirty riffs, Cramps-style. This debut double A-side single is
the ideal introduction to your new favourite band.”

THE DAILY RECORD (RICK FULTON) - 4 STARS

“... Doris Day beats out the tribal rock-a-billy beats of The Cramps and
the coffin-echo of their guitar. A band I’m hugely excited about.”

POPMATTERS.COM

“... a catchy Rock-pop tune that mixes an abrasive edge with lilting and a
resounding guitar riff. Paper Planes’ music holds a unique spot between
raw Rock and Pop.”

THE SKINNY (CHRIS BUCKLE) - 4 STARS

“... a fair old racket packed with rock-a-billy swagger and rollicking rock'n' roll thrills. This is an exciting, eye-opening debut from a band already
displaying vast promise.”

ROCKBUN.COM

“...‘Doris Day’ is the perfect embodiment of their sound – all the energy
and impact of their live shows distilled into three glorious minutes. It’s a
punchy and confident track with it’s foundations in a stomping riff.
Few bands can make the jump from being merely interesting and
talented to being absolutely essential but the Planes have pulled it off.”

WHISPERINANDHOLLERIN.COM - 9/10

“I’ll get straight to the point: this is ace!

... Paper Planes’ debut single may in many respects be the sum of the
band’s influences – melding surf / rockabilly guitars to a post-punk a
strolling bassline... The stonking, stomping swaggering rhythm section is
cocksure and confident... Jennifer Paley’s drawled and reverb-heavy
vocals ooze NY New-Wave / No-Wave cool and are the perfect match to
the music... all the ingredients are there, and combine to produce
something pretty special.

Definitely ones to watch.”

Also, Monorail sold out of the batch of tickets we gave them for the Wave Pictures gig. Apologies to anyone that went in and didn't get one but we have restocked them and they're available now.

Hope to see you at one (or both) of these shows.
