The only reason I ever even chose the name "The Raytownians" was because one sleep-deprived early morning, I was watching Mama's Family on TV (It's one of my childhood favorites, you know?) I was really interested in starting a whole new project based completely on noise and that was actually just the first thing I'd heard while thinking to myself "I want to do this, but it needs a name..." So I thought to myself "what the hell, I'll use that for the name!"

Over time I sort of found some new meaning in the name... Because a lot of this music focuses on dreams and the mind and everything to do with it, and because the sets in Mama's Family always seemd so fake, and plastic.... and "dream-like", or unreal, it seemed to work perfectly to me. It's also funny how 95% percent of the time people can't seem to pronounce it correctly...

Either way, I'm just a nerdy loser who loves cancelled shows on daytime television and likes to make noise. That's really all! - Jon Ingram
