I feel like such a kid in this memory.
I was in high school when It happened..
I always use to take the early bus to school which was great - i use to love mornings, whatever happened?
Anyways, Every morning I would wait t the end of my driveway for the bus. i was very fortunate, my house // and stop was the first one on the route. I was joking the day before with the ppl that use to catch the bus with me -- that I should put my tv in my window facing the road so we could all watch it while we waited for the bus at 6 30 am... That morning, of september 11th was the day i had planned to turn the tv to my road.
I turned on the news to see the planes fly in. it was live footage. it was so surreal, Pentagon hit, Tower 1 hit.. and as i was watching in shock, tower 2. Then a bit later a plane in a field randomly crashed.. funny how it never got as much attention. or as much attention as a bridge collapsing?
anyways, it was weird, i was leaving and shouted back to my mom "morning mom, the twin towers jut got hit by a plane." usually my mom is awake before me, but i've never seen her run to the TV so fast in my ENTIRE LIFE..
Everyone at school that day was glued to the tv. in math class all we watched was the news..
it was so weird
---
i remember giggling, and thin king that laughter is my only defense mechanism for coping with what truly happened.
"superman, he/ she/ it/ can fly..
splat
it was awful, but to think of the people that died is even worse, i rather they be remembered-in a positive light and not a harsh one.
xoxo
enjoy your day
