E-Nutt

Wussup this is ENutt of So Sick Productions here in Lincoln Nebraska. I was wondering if there was any way we could add performing at the Box Awesome to our Midwest tour. We are starting in April and heading East to Indianapolis. We have several cities lined up and we would love to infect the wonderful people of Lincoln at your establishment with our Infectious sounds. I know if promoted right this could be a positive for both parties . We have a strong following and several respectful fans in The Lincoln area. I welcome the opportunity to discuss business with you. Have a Nice Day.

P.S. we will not bring liquor in the club

Red and the Eds

Subject Line: Booking request for Red and the Eds
Dear Box Awesome
My name is Edward Hall. I am the singer/guitarist/keyboardist of Red and the Eds. I am e-mailing you with the hopes of joining the line-up at Box Awesome on or within a day or two of Tuesday June, 24th. We’ve never played in Lincoln before, but we feel that we would be a great addition to the June 24th line-up.
Red and the Eds is a three piece rock/funk/ADD-core band hailing from Iowa City. We pride ourselves on our eclectic style of songwriting, drawing enthusiastic praise from a range of tastes. From metal heads to indie kids, from punk rockers to hippie jammers, from middle school kids to fifty year-old men with fulltime jobs, families and mortgages, it seems that we have a song or more that hits home with everyone. We’ve had terrific reviews from local press. “The threesome has been friends longer than band-mates and their cohesiveness is apparent when they perform. Their smiles and energy are blinding, and even at the smallest venues the crowd is usually three or four people deep. The applause is endless.” (Rand) We’ve been described as “the ultimate party band” by critical acquaintances. Playing with other local bands in Iowa City we usually hear a “I dug it, we should play together again,” at the end of the night. We’ve played with the likes of The Velveteen and Speakerspeaker. After opening for Speakerspeaker, they told the booking agent that we were the best opening band they’d played with during their tour.
We appreciate your time in reading this and your consideration in giving us an opportunity to play at Box Awesome. Our sole desire is to do what we love to do, to play our music for anyone that’s excited or just willing to hear it. We understand that Box Awesome is a business and that as a music venue, business is hard. We understand that our small name provides us with little to no room for negotiation regarding dates, let alone payout. We’d like to be able to fill our stomachs and our gas tank, but we are content simply to satisfy our most pressing desire, to share our music. So check us out. Have a listen at www.myspace.com/redandtheeds. We are aware of our deficiencies but confident in our strengths. We don’t have the exposure to draw a big crowd hundreds of miles from home, but we firmly believe that any crowd we play for will enjoy what they hear. Thanks again, we hope to hear from you soon.
Sincerely,
Edward Hall of Red and the Eds

The Unit Breed

Hello, we are The Unit Breed from Portland OR and would love to play Box Awesome in Lincoln NE Dec 2. We will be touring with a new album, an art show, and projections.

Please take a listen to our music http://www.myspace.com/theunitbreed
Please take a look at my art http://www.josephdemaree.com

Here's a little more about us:
The Unit Breed have been recording, playing and touring consistently since 1998. We are working on our sixth full length titled "Our Soul Has Many Songs". We will be playing live with a new surreal movie behind us and touring with a small art show consisting of acrylic paintings and digital collage work.

Our sound has taken influence from such artist as NoMeansNo, Steel Pole Bathtub, Nina Nastasia, Shellac, Blonde Redhead, Komeda, Brightblack Morning Light, Firewater, Beirute, Neutral Milk Hotel, The Dead Milkmen, Clutch, Modest Mouse, etc.... We do not sound like these bands and rarely get compared to the same band twice. Our new material relies less on rock riffs and more on dreamy atmosphere. The lyrical content is whimsical and dark, sarcastic and true, surreal and ordinary.

Over the years we have booked all our own tours, recorded our own albums, and created all artwork and packaging. The Unit Breed are big fans of roller coasters, swimming, dada and surrealism, burritos, story telling, philosophy, strategy board games, and meeting fun outgoing creative open minded people. The Unit Breed are fans of you!

Discography: Lost Eyes CD/DVD - 2007 The Long Long Everlasting LP - 2006 Walking the Death Watch CD - 2003 I Can't Sleep and I'm Never Awake CD - 2001 A Proxy of Noise CD - 1999 A Childhood Celebration 7" EP - 1998

ROck ROse

Could I set up a show at The Box either upstairs or down, with a little three-piece I'm in called Mid By Midwest? John Turner has graciously offered to play with us with his stripped-down version of Medium Walter which contains only John, Jeff Iwanski, and Eric Wickizer aptly dubbed: Minimum Walter. So what'dya say? We only ask it be a Saturday night, due to multiple obligations of the band members and we're a bunch of old dudes, although tragically hip. So do you have any Saturdays open in your books for May or even June??? So we would need a late show on Saturday in which Minimum Walter opens for Mid By Midwest on either level. Thanks.

Sorry, it's Dave Merritt again. In reviewing the schedule for The Box, I would like the Minimum Walter/ Mid By Midwest show for either May 30th, June 6th or June 13th. Sorry I forgot my dates which was part of your instructions. Thanks again.
