aaah, flawless speaks. With CC, JC and PP all in Broome, it becomes increasingly difficult to speak... my musical voice is lonely and I'm full of worry for they are being endlessly harrassed by a redneck bouncer. My experience of bouncers in many australian pubs is that they beeline for (a) the strongest woman in the room (b) the person that appears to challenge mainstream ideals the most, or (c) anyone that might be part of a minority, and they aim to harass, powertrip and provoke until they have a reason to physically attack the target in an attempt to suck some of the coolness out of them to make up for the personality they lack. Call that a gross generalisation, but i have yet to be proved wrong. No bouncer has ever treated my band or I with one ounce of respect. Funny that we happen to be a band with an interest in womyn's rights, "Quick keep em down, keep em down!!!!"
Anyhoo, Mathrillda graced me with her and Melly's presence on a camping trip to Black Rock... such an amazing place - deserted beach, our own private camping space, plenty of love and quiet.
I have become inseparable from my guitar and writing pad - when you realise that no amount of explaining can give anyone the faintest idea of what is going on in your head, the music becomes an insightful counsel!
In just one week, Bertha will be reunited in Melbourne for our mini tour - I can't wait! There is something so magical when we are all on stage together. I miss you girls!
