"Myth it seems came first and the priests of the ancients projected these myths out to the sky and ordered the sky in accordance with stories to which the myths themselves related. Once you perceive that in fact this was the case, it becomes apparent that all the religions of antiquity as well as of the present day have this astronomical structure to them. The Cosmos is a grand symbol of the things that the religious stories actually represent, and actually try to tell us. Therefore, we can say that the Sabaean truths are veiled in the myriad physical symbols around us."

Right now I'm rewarding myself for the Volta tour by enjoying Robert Zoller's course in Medieval Astrology, from which the above quotation is to be found. At the same time I'm listening to the glorious countertenor, Andreas Scholl.

I love it!

I'm really happy about yesterday's concert. For me personally it was the right closure, a much happier end to the Volta tour than a mere show like any other on a festival in a foreign country.

Björk's father wrote some lovely words about it, for those of you who speak Icelandic, go to his site.

very true quote, the earth and nature were here before religion was, there was not even words or languages for a long period that man has been here.... religion is all interpretation made by people of how they see things and the answers they received were generally from the stars or cosmos or nature itself..... it is nice to have good closure, that festival in spain, was it probably did seem like an informal close.... now you may relax.... hope health and peace is with you jonas...... i'll have to check that book, tis a good quote.... thanks

Well thank you guys so much for the show! Obviously I wasn't there, but just looking at the pictures I melt. Looks like such a pretty church, if I could only see the outside of it. Thanks to all the Volta crew...amazing!

Happy end of tour!

I had never heard of Sabaean truths or most of what you mentioned in there. :D My sister, who is a medievalist, would be disappointed. On looking stuff up, I learned that medieval astrology was influenced by Arab astrologers and has its roots in Zoroastrian, ancient Egyptian, and Chaldean doctrines. It suddenly reminded me of some greeting cards I bought by chance that had a beautiful Iconic painting of an astrological chart of a Turkish sultan. The sultan's birthday happened to be the same as mine. I wonder if Robert Zoller could read that chart for me.

The singer reminded me of some music I had lost awhile ago and was very happy to rediscover it:
