After so many years of studying individual cases and eyewitness accounts of UFOs it became obvious to me that it was impossible to determine the absolute veracity of any case.

Invariably debunkers like either Jim McGaha or Paul Klass would come out of the woodwork like the 'Ghost of Christmas Past' pointing an empty sleeve and moaning, "nothing out of the ordinary exists!"  Connie Chung and other national news personalities would snicker or otherwise demean the subject and neither the press nor elected officials seemed willing (either by accident or design) to afford this topic the credibility and serious study it deserved.

This obvious and unremitting intent to discredit UFO sightings remains such a reverberating obstruction that it struck me the effort to deny and debunk UFO sightings was a social phenomenon, stranger than flying saucers or creepy aliens could ever hope to be!  Who authors such policies and attitudes and why, became a favorite study of mine, because, as I see it, serious and vital UFO research will never go anywhere until this bottleneck is unplugged!  My essay "Growing Up With Flying Saucers" as well as other texts on my [www.jimnicholsufo.com] site examines some of the reasons I've discovered.

After all these years, why are we still incapable of honestly facing the reality of UFOs?
