Do you have a dream to become a humanitarian volunteer, start your own NGO, work for the United Nations or become a field worker for a charity organisation in Africa?
Well here is something for you...a volunteer opportunity that is exciting, affordable, safe and rewarding, with SEDARVP-Ghana. It stands for Social Education Development and Rural Volunteer Program.
This NGO (non governmental organization) works with some of the poorest women and children, orphans and street children in Africa and is registered with the Ghanaian Government.
We are looking for people with good hearts, with or without previous experience and qualifications...including teachers, students, social workers, nurses, doctors, medical students etc. This could be the start of the most amazing life-long adventure you could ever imagine!
You will receive a certificate of appreciation after your time as a volunteer, which you can later use to verify that you have undergone training and experience within this organisation, which not only provides professional in-service training but also language training and cultural participation (drumming and dancing).
SEDARVP-Ghana provides their volunteers with accommodation with host families (including meals) and also makes available some language training prior to commencement. They can also provide trained tour guides for visits to many wonderful places of interest. See www.sedarvp.com
The cost is a lot less than many other volunteer training organisations for the simple reason that this work is so urgent and vital. Some African doctors will not treat the poorest women and children and many people die on their way to hospital, including pregnant women and street children. So if you have nursing, medical or related skills you will be especially welcome!
We are also looking for interested people to volunteer in their own home countries, and soon details will be given for an exciting fundraising competition for all members of Humanitarian Volunteers. This will be a dream come true for some lucky volunteer!
