Interview in Decembers issue of Finch Kids.....
Ever wondered what would happen if Interpol, Chromeo, Fischerspooner and Death from Above wrestled in a blow up pool ? lled with orange ?avoured jelly? Us neither but they'd fool around to the beat of latest head turners Panther DLX.
In?uenced by an wide diverse range of musicians particularly by the likes of iconic electro frontrunners Daft Punk, various 80's Funk, and the 'King of Pop' himself, Michael Jackson, these boys are quickly raising some well (and some not so well) plucked eyebrows. After playing alongside Para One at Lick it, and most recently throwing Brisbane into an epileptic rave ? t at Round and Round, we thought we'd get in uncomfortably close, and personal with our new
succulent ? avour of the month. Alex Edwards (Ed), Phil Kusiak (Phil) and James Davidson (Dex) are Panther DLX.
Fk: And you start off to the beat of... Start? PD:There is no single moment when Panther DLX started, we have all been working towards it
subconsciously, our whole existence. High School was a catalyst -it was the point where our three paths crossed. We were ? rst ready to become Panther DLX in 07/07, and since then we have become aware that this is what we are and always will be.
Fk: What are Panther DLX musical backgrounds? We've all been playing in bands together forever ranging from everything from high
school jazz ensemble to reggae and metal bands. Each and all of these bands have ultimately been a good experience and in the end taught has us how to play better individually and made us tighter as a collective. Creatively we're in a really good place, because now, we're taking all those musical
experiences and using them to write songs we love. Interestingly, for all of us this is the ? rst band
we've played in where after practice we can still listen to our own CD on the way home in the car.
Fk: What's on the horizon for Panter DLX? So far remixes are being done on a couple of tracks by local talent Ladyboy, Hundreds and Thousands, Shades and Fashion (With A Gun). We've thrown our CD's at a few others so hopefully they'll devour it likewise. Aside from that we are aiming to get down to play some
shows in Sydney and Melbourne, and then maybe even a hometown hero's party on the Gold Coast. We're just waiting for a venue to open.
Lastly I guess we're just looking forward to recording some tracks for a release.

And in the spirit of 'by-the-ways' we thought we'd add that if anyone is fortune enough to meet and greet with these guys whilst wearing a tie, have a bit of a play around with Phil. Rumour has it he knows how to tie neck-ties in every single knot style imaginable; (quote) "no shit".
