i've found growing one's own food to be an act of self love. and by extension, a love of the earth. and by extension, a love of people who love the earth.
it makes me wonder about all the people who see the earth as dirt-y, as something that lesser people bother with. i see now why these people are so preoccupied with "getting somewhere" or "being somebody." they haven't loved themselves enough and the easiest way to do so is underneath their feet.
