March’s Carnivale 69 Comedy was a complete treat for all who gathered together in Durty Nelly’s on Sunday night.
Our resident Host James Christopher opened the proceedings in his usual way sharing stories of his lovely Gran and her recent press coverage (James is not bitter!). Leeds Comedian Dan Bland was the first act to hit the stage and his dry wit soon had the audience in hysterics. He is definitely an act to look out for in the future.
The wonderfully talented Sam Jones opened The Magners Comedy Lounge with his unique style of comedy and music. He wowed the audience with his songs about pirates and politics along with the most amazing ending we have ever witnessed – Sam we have every faith that you could be the next Ronan Keating! The next act to be introduced was our regular mad man Masked Dan who along with 2 replicagooseEgg videos also treated the crowd to the video showing evidence of the challenge he was set last month. We all enjoyed Dan’s visit to Bridge End even though it looked a lot like the Humber Bridge! More from Masked Dan and ThereplicagooseEgg next month.
After a short break James Christopher returned and after explaining the importance of reading warnings on beer mats he encouraged the audience to stand to welcome the glorious Mister Paul Foot to the stage.
Paul amazed the audience with his energetic and unique style of comedy which everyone found hilarious apart from Ben who was sat at the front (have no fear he was rightly punished!). Paul shared his views on life, relationships and the moistness of cake before making love to the majority of the audience and closing the night with a prayer.
A massive thank you to all the acts that took part it was definitely a night to be proud of. Also a special thank you to everyone who came along and the team at Durty Nelly’s, Polly, Chris, Mike and Mike B for their continuous help and support.
The next Carnivale 69 will take place at Durty Nelly’s on Sunday 20th April when the headline act will be the fantastic Chris Mayo who returns to Hull for the 3rd time due to popular demand. Plus support from Sean Moran and lots more fun and frolics including our gorgeous resident Host James Christopher and the scary but hilarious Masked Dan. Tickets £5 in advance, £7 on the door.
