One of the reasons he probably did though was because I posted this to his myspace comments. If I would have simply just sent the email, I probably would have never heard back from the dude. For those of you who do not know who David Banner is, well he is a rapper out of Mississippi that is trying to make an impact in society by addressing the many social issues/pressures that youth and hip hop as a whole face. I guess education has made me confident in bringing into question things that I see, hear, and read that I think are sketchy. I wouldn't say it's a bad thing.... Anyway, I just wanted to show this to all of you out there, that for ONE I got a response (probably forced), and TWO stand up for what you believe. Just because you are fan of someone doesn't mean that you have glorify and accept everything they do without question. You don't have to be a "ho" or the BIGGEST FAN EVER ( I want to have your baby type...), you can have some sense about yourself, and hold others who claim and portray themselves as potential role models to some standard.

David,
I'm a really big fan of yours, and if this sounds like I'm hating well then sorry... I'm just letting you know what I think. I was praying that when you were in the airport in Fresno, and you mentioned going to the Nike shop in Portland that your next post would not consist of you reinforcing the fact that black people (especially celebrities) react to wealth in stereotypical ways. Don't get me wrong if I had the money, I'd probably pay off some bills and buy some nice things for me and my family. As a celebrity though, that continually portrays himself as a person that is concerned with bigger issues, such as gas prices and exploitation of young people, along with the reinforcement of stereotypes in music videos, you have to watch what messages you put out to your young audience. Truly it can all be about nice clothes and shoes....
I hope you get to read this, and not some person from your "camp"....
