In honor of a very successful Toy Fair and this extra day in February we're going to do another Q&A session. If you're not familiar with how it works you get to post your top 3 NECA-related questions - no more then 3 - and I will answer them over the next week or so. Please read through other users posts to help minimize repeated questions.

Looking forward to reading your comments and answering your questions...

I remember reading that there was no chance of Sweeney Todd figures right now, but I was wondering if there will EVER be a chance we might get to see them?

That's my only question :)

First, thank you for the exorcist.

1. Whatever happened to the Ring boxset?

2. Why doesn't Tim Burton want Sweeney Todd figures?

3. Any more CC or HOF announcements for NYTF and SDCC?

Thanks, Randy

1) Licensing fell through between Dreamworks US and original Ringu Japan owners
2) I don't know
3) Maybe at SDCC - not at NYCC

hello !

First of all, let me say that I'm deeply, deeply impressed by your Raziel. Everything that I found wrong about Kain is very right about Raziel... And then a lot more on top of it ! Wonderful work. I also love that you're venturing into more articulated figures, apparently depending on the potential per character - A great decision in my eyes.

As for the questions:

1: Can we hope for more characters from the Legacy of Kain series, or is that it ?

2: After seeing your great Beetlejuice proto - Which will hurt my wallet down the line for sure - in Toyfair coverage, I have to wonder: Are there any plans for Lydia Deetz from the same movie ?

3: With the new Ghostbusters videogame coming in fall, is there any chance of you guys picking that particular license up again ? (Re-releases would be fine, too - It's just too hard to get Stay Puft for a less-than-painful price these days)

1) It's possible but not likely until there is a new game in the series
2) We're considering Lydia but the licensing is trickier for use of her likeness
3) We're looking into any and all options to try and do more GB figures - we want it as much if not more then you guys, I swear

First off, my compliments on everything shown this year. Possibly the best Cult Classics line-up ever.

1. I LOVE the black-and-white Ninja Turtle -- curious as to more details (shipping time, is it a variant, etc.)

2. The Shaw brothers line is unreal, and with all that articulation must have been expensive to produce, but at the same time I worry that the property isn't that well known to retailers or casual consumers. Can you give us a reasonable assurance that these figures will actually see the light of day?

3. There has been mention of an 18" Betelgeuse, which I would totally buy. However, in previous interviews, you've said that an 18" Predator might be impractical due to costs and the market, so I'm wondering -- why is an 18" Betelgeuse more viable than an 18" Predator, if indeed it is? (note that I would buy both).

1) details TBA. Most likely a limited release "Series 1.5" type of thing of all 4 turtles before we release a full out Series 2
2) We're still getting orders on this series and you are 100% correct it is obscure or niche. We're doing it very economically by re-using most of the body parts and articulation over and over and adding separate pcs to make them look very different from one another. I will keep you posted on the development
3) I would love to make an 18" Predator but it's not likely right now because he costs way too much. Since you mention BJ, let's compare the 2 - the Predator by design is a bigger figure in terms of his overall proportions plus he has a lot more pcs and a lot more deco so he = more $$$
If we can find a way to produce him we will but we are in the business of making affordable figures. 18" for $40 retail is a great deal and that is why they have been so successful. We can't produce the Predator and have him retail for $40 right now, it's just not possible. We're looking at ways to minimize the articulation and have him more pre-posed and then drafting some of the sep pcs to the body but this takes time and involves a lot of back & forth to reach the necessary price.

1.is there any chance we will see a howling werewolf in cult classics any time soon

2.will neca ever branch out into the more obscure horror like my bloody valentine or return of the living dead.mbv is tarintinos favorite horror film a true cult classic.

3.since sota droped the ball on tremors and are losing the rights this year .any chance you guys pick it up and give us the box set sota promised

1) possible but definitely not anytime soon
2) very unlikely - the market is too small and we can't make these types of figures and have a successful business
3) again not likely. I appreciate the "B" movies as much as the next guy and I would love to make a Descent figure or something from Brotherhood of the Wolf but the bottom line is that making these figures gets more and more expensive each day and the niche stuff is not not economically feasible. There are figures we made 2-3 years ago like Ho-Tep that we could never make today because of rising manufacturing costs and retailers buying only the marquee titles that everyone knows

2 Complete battle damaged Robocop with Cobra assault cannon?
3 or a Clarence Boddicker figure with cobra assault cannon?

Hey. The TMNT and Gears of War lines have me absolutely psyched.

1. What are the possibilities of 12 inch (or, however unlikely) Turtles?

2. When can we expect word on more figures from The Princess Bride (ie: more figures and possibly an 18 inch Westley)

3. Anything more from the Army of Darkness license (and does the license include anything from the first 2 Evil Dead movies?)

thanks guys!

I'm sure you get this question all the time but:

1: when are we going to see a clock orange boxset let alone maybe just an alex figure?

2: is it possible to do a series based on a movie just itself rather than cult classics line? i.e a robocop series featuring robocop, robocop 2 and ed 209.

3: can you please make an invaders from mars series the tobe hooper version I know it's not a question but dammit I would kill to see one.

1. What's the status of the Pulp Fiction license? Will we ever see figures to go along with the Ge-omes?

2. Any chance you guys would do some Kurt Russel licenses? A Snake Plissken figure along with Jack Burton from BTiLT are two that would seem to be a perfect fit for CC. Oh, and your Stuntman Mike figure looks awesome, I can't wait to pick it up.

3. Do you guys plan on making a figure of the original Predator? I realize that the AvP:R one was the most expensive figure you made, but is there any possibility? And what about the Aliens license for figures like Ripley and Hicks?

2) Thanks and I would love to do a good Jack Burton and better Snake one day

2-How/when/where will the "sparking" stealth Predator variant be released?

3-Is there a chance we may see a highly articulated Predator figure? With your recent dabbles in super-articulation(TMNT, Shaw Bros.) I was wondering if it could be a trend?

Hi Randy,

Great licenses this year as always, especially "The Exorcist", TMNT, Movie Conan and AvP. Lookin' forward to collecting them all!

Alrighty, here are da questions:

1. Are there any plans for new Hellraiser figures this year (The Engineer boxset, new Cenobites, CC Hall of Fame repaints)?

2. Are there plans for branching out into the other films of the Alien franchise? Movie accurate figures of the Alien Queen and the Dog Alien would rock.

3. What do you think of "The Fly" franchise? Is there a chance that we could see Brundlefly and/or Martinfly in a future Cult Classics lineup?

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions and for all the great figures! :)

2) Maybe in the future since you're right the stuff that is out there is not very accurate

3) I love the Fly - and Fly 2 not so much. I don't think there is much interest in either based on how well the McF versions did in the past

Thanks again for doing this for us fans and congrats on a STELLAR Toy Fare.

1. Assuming you get the go ahead on the Ghostbusters license, what would be your ideal series 1 and 2 line-up. Assuming you get rights to everything, that is. It's just for fun. I'd like to know what figures you would most like to make...

2. Although asked above about Lydia Deetz, are there any other figures on tap for your BeetleJuice license? (Besides 3 BeetleJuice's and MAYBE Lydia) I'd love for you to revisit your beetlejuice figures from earlier in the decade... you know, updated sculps and all! *ahem* Stretched faced Adam and Barbra *ahem*

3. My last question is why do you, NECA, rock so freekin' hard?

1) Ideally I would love to do one series with all 4 guys and offer slimed versions as variants, with the game coming and the 25th Anniversary next year we're doing everything we can to try and make something happen here.

2) Had I been at NECA back in those days the BJ line would have looked a lot different. Anyway for now we're tackling just the title ghost himself and we'll see what happens from there

3) Is there any other way to rock??
