The past two weeks have been busy both professionally and socially.  I was thinking about it, and I've been going out on weeknights more often than not during the past two weeks.  Going out on the weekends is a given.  I'm not sure what's gotten into me, but I think it might be an escape from the workplace and my colleagues.  There has been drama at work because people have extreme personalities and some of those tend to clash.  It just makes you want to kill people sometimes.  Also, I feel like people bring emotions into the workplace caused by issues they are battling in their personal lives.  I have a hard time understanding why, and it makes me wonder if I had a significant other or children, if I would be the same way.

I've been spending a lot of time with friends lately, and it's been a lot of fun.  My wingman (you know who you are) lives close by and it's convenient to jump in the car and head out for a drink or two or ten.  This same person came by tonight and offered some tender lovin' care since I have a cold and am not feeling up to doing much.  I was touched, although since I'm a hard read, it may not have seemed like it at the time.

I've been reading A Time to Kill by John Grisham.  It's taken me months to get about 3/4 of the way through it.  It's an oldie now, but since I basically only read for entertainment, it gets the job done.  I'm not sure why I don't read more enlightening books.  I guess I get enough enlightenment through TV shows such as Family Guy and Drawn Together.

My summer plans are shaping up nicely.  I found out early this week that I'll be spending a couple of weeks this summer in Hew Hampshire at a music festival.  It's basically band camp for adults, and you get paid.  There is a position open in the festival and the audition is a two-week trial playing with the orchestra.  Keep your fingers crossed because I'd love to spend all my summers up north in the cooler weather.  But before I do that, I'll head to Oklahoma to play a recital at a large, well-attended music conference and visit my family in the process.

I know what you mean about drama in the workplace...mine is full of it! But you have to keep your professionalism there and just do your job. Some people don't get that unfortunately! Yay on the summer gigs! Making money doing what you like to do, there is nothing better than that! And seeing some beautiful country while you are at it.

Rest up and get well!!! All of my students are sick and I tell them to stay home when they have a fever. There is really something bad going around right now, so get more of that TLC and get well!
