Last.fm lists some bands I've never heard of that it says are similar to ours. They base this on the number of people who have listened to both us and these bands, and this, in turn, is influenced by the way I've tagged our band and songs on the site. For example, there are two "Christian" bands here because I tagged our song "Holy Jesus" as "christian punk" or something, so people who were listening to such music have heard it. So it's a bit artificial, but it IS based on listeners' listening, and I'd never heard of any of them before. It's mostly pretty unembarrassing and all over the place (literally).
"SUPER SIMILARITY"
Model Reign (hardcore religious pop band in St. Petersburg, Russia): MySpace
The Panic--could be:
new wave/post-punk/indie band in NYC: MySpace OR
alternative rock band in the UK: MySpace
probably the first one
Che Guevara T-Shirt (indie band in Albany, NY): MySpace
I talked to one of them online once and he told me they'd split up. I really like them.
The B-Side Project (indie rock garage band in Belgium): MySpace
"VERY HIGH SIMILARITY"
The Revolutionary Hydra (indie pop band in Seattle): MySpace
Bridge Underwater (indie band in Philadelphia): MySpace
"MEDIUM SIMILARITY"
Men 2 Monkeys (Christian punk rock band in Fort Smith, AR): MySpace
Of course, this will probably all change once we release our album. :) Fun, though.
