Starting out with acoustic strum, and then disintegrating into
Velvet Underground-like pop rock, this New York band flies through a
world of lo-fi wonderment without ever touching the ground. Slightly
like a poppy and upbeat Silver Jews matched to strange Flaming Lips
flashbacks, but even stranger, Y33BA’s catchy and poppy hooks fly
through the layers of sound and noise. After 22 songs, you would think
you would get tired out, but instead
Tales leaves
you slightly hallucinating. The almost spoken word lyricisms nod
towards a Dylanesque poeticness, but the love of the indierock shines
