We played our first virtual gigs recently, streaming a live performance of our songs over the Internet, while our virtual selves made appearances at 2 venues in Second Life.
An interesting phenomenon, virtual gigs - no one's getting rich off of it, but the overhead is far lower than schlepping stuff out to clubs & stuff...not to mention that it is a great way to have your music heard worldwide, even if it's only by a person or two (hey, everything has to start somewhere!). It's a bit odd, being that detached from your audience - but it's not completely detached, the warm reception and extremely nice comments are welcome feedback for us!

We'll definitely be back doing that again, although we don't want to do it all the time - other irons in the fire need tending as well. Still, it's one more way of bridging the divide, and perhaps even one wave of the future of music...
