We are in Florida. Waiting for the arrival of our new baby - Rice Cakes from the Moon. Hoping we haven't forgotten anything or anyone in the liner notes. Greg's airbrushed cover artwork is soulful and light-filled. If you look closely you can see the rabbit in the shadows of the buttery yellow moon on the cover.
We had a blast at the Vets for Peace solstice concert...reconnecting with our tribe of light-filled beings who support and help to manifest peace. Bill invited me to lead "Imagine." What an honor! I love the Neil Young version "Imagine no possessions...I wonder if 'I' can" which we all imagine that John Lennon would approve of. During the concert we spoke with John Hall from the stage via cell phone speakerphone and were able to collectively congratulate his efforts to become the next US Congressman from New York's 19th district.
Bright, sunny wishes to everyone for a New Year of peace, abundance, and renewed hope. I hope it's a year of finding common ground, building bridges and offering compassion in those relationships needing it most.
When I was a child and having a...well, let's say a "heated discussion" with my brother, Mom would sit us down at the kitchen counter and make us write down three things we liked about each other. After about fifteen minutes of crossed arms and pursed lips, occasionally sticking our tongues out at each other, we realized unless we did as Mom asked, we weren't going anywhere. Eventually we found some small shred of something slightly redeeming about the other, and our differences softened.
For my own personal sense of peace and well-being, I hope this year to find three things I like about anyone I feel challenged by.
peace and earthly sanity,
kiki
We've covered alot of ground in 2006. Sitting here in north-central Florida on the day after Christmas the year stretches back full of changing faces and landscapes. With in our musical lives we have grown through months of recording and weeks of post production and the process has been full of challenges and grace. I give big thanks to the many friends who have supported us with their love, knowledge, ideas, and honest feedback as our new CD has grown from the seed of songs to this moment of waiting for the finished package to arrive at our door.
The title track of Rice Cakes from the Moon is a song in celebration of the abundance of our autumn garden. One of our favorite manifestations of the inate abundance of the universe. From the seat of sublime peace at the center of my being, beyond the crazy chatter of my over active mind, I pray that we small blips on the great radar screen of all that is will invest our power to think,to believe and to create from the infinite pallet of life a human state of being in love, in peace, in abundant possiblity the whole world round.
