Hello fellow Eagles fans. Yep, this one is a week late. Been busy all week so I'm a bit behind.
Well, the Birds made it a happy week for Eagles fans again this week. The Birds picked up a key win after jetting of to the West Coast. This could have been a trap game for the Birds with the Giants up next but they did not fall into the trap. The Birds stayed focused and picked up a good win.
The offense played a decent game. D-Mac spread the ball around to all the receivers keeping the Seahawks D-Backs guessing. The 'Hawks came into the game wanting to shutdown Westbrook so the Birds needed to find someone to step up. Brent Celek had a monster game, setting a record for yardage by a tight end in a game. The offense still didn't punch the ball in the end zone and settled for field goals. This didn't come into play in this game but will need to be addressed for the game against the Giants. Overall, the offense did get the job done when they needed to.
The defense played well. Except for one long pass to start the game the D shut down the Seahawks offense. The front line shut the running game down and the D-Backs didn't allow the receivers to get open. The linebackers also played well and look to be fast becoming one of the top young linebacking groups in the NFL.
Special teams played a solid game, getting good returns and not allowing big returns. The key here is that it looks like David Akers looks to be back on track. If special teams plays like this the rest of the year it will take a big burden of the Eagle offense.
Now we wait for the Giants. The G-Men are leading the division and this is a big game for the Birds. These games are always hard fought games. It should be a good game and I see the Birds pulling this out in a squeaker. The home field advantage will come into play giving the Eagles a big win.
Now the part we all know is coming. The 'Boys got a good ass kicking by the G-Men and are now in last place. Just goes to show--DALLAS SUCKS!!!
