Ok, I've been hearing people talking about this and I'm sick and tired of hearing about it.  All you hear is, "I want respect, You will respect me, you should have respect for me, etc.".  It gets old quick and I'm sure there's a lot more people tired of hearing about too.  And for all who know me, who better to blast these people than me!

Why should I, or anyone else for that matter, have respect for you?  Because you say so or because you want us to.  Well, there's a saying all these people should listen to.  RESPECT ISN'T GIVEN, IT'S EARNED!!!

Respect isn't given just because you want it, it isn't given for what job you do, it's isn't given for how much money you make, it isn't given for who you are, etc.  Respect is earned through your actions and your attitude in doing something that it's just what should be done.  In other words, it's just the right thing to do.

I respect the parent who works their ass off so that the kid(s) they have can have the things in life they need and to make their kid(s) life the very best they can make it.  Respect for the person that has a sickness or disease that does not let it hold them back from doing what they want to do or hold them back in reaching their goals.  Respect for those who sacrifice for the good of others, for the welfare of others, and go out of their way to help others when it would be so easy just to do nothing.  Respect for those who put their life on the line so all of us can be safe.  Respect for those with a handicap who just say, "There's always someone worse off then me."  Guess you all get the picture here.

Then we get to those who bitch they want respect and demand respect.  Then all they do in a crisis is complain.  The complain when they get sick, when things go wrong they find someone else to blame, when things don't go their way they bitch and complain, they always think people are out to screw them over, they get jealous when others do or get something because they just couldn't do what that person did or don't have the cash to get what that person got.  They could have had a great past six months but when problems arise the next month they complain and wine.  Sure we all complain when things don't go as planned but you just have to pick youself up and move on.

Instead of telling people you want and demand respect go out and earn it.  Just remember the saying -- "RESPECT ISN'T GIVEN, IT'S EARNED!  IF YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT, YOU HAVEN'T EARNED IT!"
