Greensboro,NC-The last week of this season’s UNCG & Carnegie Chamber Music Series will bring once again two concerts featuring EMF’s wonderful faculty members. The first of these will showcase various combinations of wind and string instruments interpreting works by prominent composers: W.A. Mozart, Ligeti and Dvořák. This concert is scheduled on Monday, July 27, 2009 in the Recital Hall of UNCG
The next performance will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in the Carnegie Room of Hege Library at Guilford College
Both concerts will start at 8pm. Monday’s tickets may be purchased for $20 and Tuesday’s for $25 by calling the EMF Box Office at Triad Stage at 336.272.0160 or 866-579-TIXX, or online at www.EasternMusicFestival.org.
Monday’s wide-ranging concert will feature violinists Randall Weiss, Courtney LeBauer, Jeffrey Multer and Jessica Guideri, violists Sarah Cote and Danielle Farina, cellists Beth Vanderborgh and Hannah Holman, bassist Maximilian Dimoff, flutist Les Roettges, oboist Katherine Young, clarinetist Shannon Scott, bassoonist Mark Timmerman, as well as guest artist John Cerminaro, Kevin Reid and Joy Hodges Branagan, all on horn.
Tuesday evening’s performance will offer a more intimate program, with the participation of oboist Katherine Young, horn player Joy Hodges Branagan, clarinetist Shannon Scott, violinists Diana Tsaliovich and John Fadial, violist Jamie Hofman, cellist Neal Cary, and extraordinary pianists Gideon Rubin, James Giles and Yoshikazu Nagai.
The UNCG & Guilford College Chamber Music Series features the festival’s many outstanding faculty and guest artists performing the celebrated classics of the past, as well as modern masterpieces in the making. These two five-concert series comprise one tier of the Eastern Music Festival & School’s vast and varied musical and educational offerings.
