I usually keep things positive on my page but I really want  someone to explain to me the appeal of this new genre that seems to have all the kids creaming their pants. Screamo/Metal. The Devil Wears Prada seems to be the band that is leading this whole new breed.  It seems like every other month there is a new band coming out saying they are a new hardcore band...then I listen and its this same crap. Im not really sure what to call it...its almost too disrespectful to call is screamo because there are some good screamo bands out there that dont deserve to be held to that standard...basically it just sounds like really shitty metal to me.  The typical band consists of a vocalist screaming like hes got his nuts in a vice, 4 guitarists (all playing rhythm...the same one), bass, a synth player (punching one key at a time and looking like hes having a seizure while doing it), and a drummer playing the same tired beats.  Im really not sure if its just the trend of trying to be "different" or if there really is some musical talent Im missing in there.

Even the genres that I personally dont usually care for I typically understand why people like them...this stuff I have no idea. Please someone give me their input.

I don't know, man... It's just the truest thing to me. Whenever I listen to TDWP (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, obviously), I just feel this overwhelming sense of belonging in my heart.... Nothing compares to the released emotion in every keyboard note, the heartbreak crying out in every "Dying Cat Screech", and the pummeling anger projected in every blast-beat.

Nothing compares. I know exactly where all my brothers and sisters who also live solely for the bands playing this genre are coming from. Or is it just "sisters"? Sometimes I never know, since they all look like dejected girls anyway...

Auditory Response

ryan, it's like this... there is a rising trend in, what i like to call, "mcdonald's music." mcdonald's music is described: mcdonald's (screamo/metal) does not produce the best food (music) of any brand (band). their food (music) is simply consistently crappy but no matter which mcdonald's (scene) one visits, he/she shall receive the same quality... for some reason people love mcdonald's (screamo/metal) although they receive no quality whatsoever

[[NEW SONGS]]Joshuamazing RIP ZP

So, I realize that this post is old as balls. But I just wanted to say that Pat's Mcdonald's analogy cracked me up.
